Overall Exam Analysis of SSC CHSL Tier I 2016-17
In this, we will make you head towards the section – wise analysis as per the topics asked:
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam 2016-17 Over Exam Analysis: English Language
For the English Section, the graph was a little shifty between major topics but overall, the questions were either based on vocabulary or grammar.
- In Vocabulary, there were questions from topics like Synonyms/ Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases and spellings correction.
- In Grammar section, there were questions on Sentence Improvement, Spot the Error and Sentence Completion.

Note:
- Nearly everyone agreed that the topic of English that needs to be massively improved upon is, that of Antonyms and Synonyms, along with Idioms and Phrases. These are the topics which most candidates have been finding the most gruelling.
- Cloze test focused on internet companies for the most of shifts.
- Trying to improve the vocabulary is another facet that should be worked upon.
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam 2016-17 Over Exam Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude
A large part of the paper was from Arithmetic section. Questions were also asked from topics like DI, Number System, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration and Trigonometry. Any candidate with a good grasp on the subject could have score well in the section

Note:
- Coordinate geometry again marked an entry. Although direct formula based question was asked, candidates are asked to revisit this section for improving their hand at this section.
- Slopes and line segments also needed to be covered in general for this topic of coordinate geometry
- Linear equations also came in the paper. Candidates are asked to revise the linear and quadratic equations based questions.
- Candidates mentioned tabular graphs for DI. They remained a little tricky to tackle, but not difficult. Candidates are suggested to revise this topic of DI for a better score.
- Miscellaneous topics, like SI, CI and profit and loss, had simple questions but required considerable solving time. Candidates are advised to time their approach towards a question in a better fashion.

- Question related to Rajya and Lok Sabha seats has been gaining popularity for this session. Candidates are advised to focus on the same for increasing their chances.
- Geography based its questions from the topics of States and Capitals, both national and international, and also the topics of famous festivals and national parks and wildlife reserves.
- Questions based on computers were also featured. They remained basic, as general abbreviations were asked.
- Scientific name entered in the most of the shifts of the paper. Knowing the class of the organism would certainly help you pin point the correct answer, in case you don’t know the exact scientific names.
- Topics of Science, in general require a knowledge of the basic facts only. The corresponding encompassing subtopics, will thus be done easily.
- Famous sports-persons and awardees, along with books and authors are some of the topics which candidates must additionally work on.
