Two irrigation projects stuck for want of central funds
- Phina Singh Canal and Shah Canal command area irrigation projects in Kangra district are stuck for want of funds from the Union Government.
- The Rs 643-crore Phina Singh Canal project is being set up in the Nurpur area of Kangra district. The project has been hanging fire for the past over 11 years and its cost has gone up from initial Rs 204 crore to Rs 643 crore now.
- The project was envisaged in 2011 for interlinking two Beas tributaries, the Chaki river and Kalam nullah, in the Nurpur area and the construction of a concrete gravity dam across the Chaki river.
केंद्रीय फंड के अभाव में दो सिंचाई परियोजनाएं अटक गईं
- कांगड़ा जिले में फीना सिंह नहर और शाह नहर कमांड क्षेत्र सिंचाई परियोजनाएं केंद्र सरकार से धन के अभाव में अटकी हुई हैं।
- 643 करोड़ रुपये की फिना सिंह नहर परियोजना कांगड़ा जिले के नूरपुर क्षेत्र में स्थापित की जा रही है। यह परियोजना पिछले 11 वर्षों से अधर में लटकी हुई है और इसकी लागत शुरुआती 204 करोड़ रुपये से बढ़कर अब 643 करोड़ रुपये हो गई है।
- इस परियोजना की परिकल्पना 2011 में नूरपुर क्षेत्र में ब्यास की दो सहायक नदियों, चाकी नदी और कलाम नाले को जोड़ने और चाकी नदी पर एक कंक्रीट ग्रेविटी बांध के निर्माण के लिए की गई थी।
