Technology Intervention To Induce Development
The state government of Himachal Pradesh is putting renewed emphasis on adopting modern techniques and by making the best use of science and technology it intends to strengthen various sectors like agriculture, horticulture and health sector for improving quality of service delivery and enhancing standard of living.
Key Points:
- In this regard, the state government has announced that it has planned to set up a department of nuclear medicine in one of the medical colleges of the state so that facility of radiation therapy could be provided to cancer patients saving their time and resources.
- The state government authorities have further underlined that the need of the hour is to adopt modern scientific methodology of farming instead of practising traditional methods. In this regard, the state government has urged the centre government for providing technological support for undertaking these activities.
- The state has requested providing support to the officers of the horticulture and agriculture departments of the state besides organising orientation programmes for them, so as to enable them to be more familiar with new innovative technology.
- As the State is more prone to natural calamities, there is a need for setting up Doppler Radars in the two tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti, besides establishing weather observatories at Hamirpur, Chamba, Nalagarh, Keylong and Kaza regions along-with a data centre in Hamirpur district in order to strengthen disaster response, analysis and dissemination of weather information.
- This will not only help save lives but will give timely weather information to farmers and horticulturalists of the State. With respect to the crucial agricultural sector, the state government is looking for assistance from the centre government in order to get organised training for the farmers and horticulturists to make them acquainted with the new techniques.
- These new techniques will help farmer and horticulturalists in improving the quality of their produce.For increasing farmers’ income and for promotion of cash crops, the state is advocating including Chamba district under 'Aroma Mission' for cultivation of Lavender plants and to provide technological support to the farmers for the same.
- Keeping in view the vulnerability of the state to earthquakes, the authorities are considering establishing a high-tech seismic laboratory cum data analysis centre in Kangra and Hamirpur seismic zone.

- इस संबंध में राज्य सरकार ने घोषणा की है कि उसने राज्य के किसी एक मेडिकल कॉलेज में न्यूक्लियर मेडिसिन विभाग स्थापित करने की योजना बनाई है ताकि उनका समय और संसाधन बचाकर कैंसर रोगियों को रेडिएशन थेरेपी की सुविधा प्रदान की जा सके.
- राज्य सरकार के अधिकारियों ने आगे रेखांकित किया है कि पारंपरिक तरीकों को अपनाने के बजाय खेती की आधुनिक वैज्ञानिक पद्धति को अपनाना समय की मांग है। इस संबंध में, राज्य सरकार ने केंद्र सरकार से इन गतिविधियों को शुरू करने के लिए तकनीकी सहायता प्रदान करने का आग्रह किया है।
- राज्य ने राज्य के बागवानी और कृषि विभागों के अधिकारियों के लिए अभिविन्यास कार्यक्रम आयोजित करने के अलावा उन्हें सहायता प्रदान करने का अनुरोध किया है, ताकि उन्हें नई नवीन तकनीक से परिचित कराया जा सके।
- चूंकि राज्य में प्राकृतिक आपदाओं की संभावना अधिक है, इसलिए दो जनजातीय जिलों किन्नौर और लाहौल स्पीति में डॉपलर रडार स्थापित करने के अलावा, हमीरपुर, चंबा, नालागढ़, की में मौसम वेधशालाएं स्थापित करने की आवश्यकता है। आपदा प्रतिक्रिया, विश्लेषण और मौसम की जानकारी के प्रसार को मजबूत करने के लिए हमीरपुर जिले में एक डेटा सेंटर के साथ-साथ लंबे और काजा क्षेत्रों में भी।
- इससे न केवल लोगों की जान बचाने में मदद मिलेगी बल्कि प्रदेश के किसानों-बागवानों को समय पर मौसम की जानकारी भी मिलेगी। महत्वपूर्ण कृषि क्षेत्र के संबंध में, राज्य सरकार किसानों और बागवानों को संगठित प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करने के लिए केंद्र सरकार से सहायता की अपेक्षा कर रही है।वह नई तकनीकों से परिचित हुए।
