IIT Mandi To Assist Government To Boost Skill Development
The state government of Himachal Pradesh has recently announced that the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has partnered with it by acquiring the Skill Development Centre in Una.

The announcement was made during the G20 - S20 event held at IIT Mandi to offer skill-based education for inclusive growth. As per the mandate of the partnership, the Skill Development Centre in Una will now serve as a satellite center for skill development, catering to the needs of the wider public.In this regard, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, the Director of IIT Mandi, has highlighted the crucial role of skill development in achieving an Atmanirbhar Bharat, or a self-reliant India. It must be kept in mind that the benefits of demographic dividend can be reaped only by skilling the available workforce. The Institute has also highlighted its ongoing initiatives in areas such as bioenergy, climate-controlled agriculture, and biomedicine, which aim to create a skilled workforce and promote entrepreneurial opportunities for the country's youth.Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Mukesh Agnihotri was the chief guest at IIT Mandi's G20-S20 meet. The concerned officials on their part have expressed fulsome support for the collaboration between the state government and IIT Mandi. The G20 - S20 event featured insightful discussions on various topics related to skill development, including vocational education, future of work, and inclusive growth. The state government in this regard, has emphasized the need for effective implementation of skill development projects to benefit the youth of the state and the nation as a whole. Unemployment, recently has been one of the most burning issues with governments across the country struggling to deal with the problem. Skilling the youth can be taken as a starting point and later on, industry-training institute collaboration and periodic interaction can be put in place to help training institutes design their curriculum as per the needs of the employers.

हिमाचल प्रदेश राज्य सरकार ने हाल ही में घोषणा की है कि भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईआईटी) मंडी ने ऊना में कौशल विकास केंद्र का अधिग्रहण करके उसके साथ साझेदारी की है।

समावेशी विकास के लिए कौशल-आधारित शिक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए आईआईटी मंडी में आयोजित G20 - S20 कार्यक्रम के दौरान यह घोषणा की गई थी। साझेदारी के आदेश के अनुसार, ऊना में कौशल विकास केंद्र अब व्यापक जनता की जरूरतों को पूरा करते हुए कौशल विकास के लिए एक उपग्रह केंद्र के रूप में काम करेगा। इस संबंध में, आईआईटी मंडी के निदेशक प्रोफेसर लक्ष्मीधर बेहरा ने आत्मनिर्भर भारत, या आत्मनिर्भर भारत प्राप्त करने में कौशल विकास की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला है। यह ध्यान में रखा जाना चाहिए कि जनसांख्यिकीय लाभांश का लाभ केवल उपलब्ध कार्यबल को कुशल बनाकर ही उठाया जा सकता है। संस्थान ने बायोएनर्जी, जलवायु-नियंत्रित कृषि और बायोमेडिसिन जैसे क्षेत्रों में अपनी चल रही पहलों पर भी प्रकाश डाला है, जिसका उद्देश्य एक कुशल कार्यबल बनाना और देश के युवाओं के लिए उद्यमशीलता के अवसरों को बढ़ावा देना है। हिमाचल प्रदेश के उपमुख्यमंत्री, मुकेश अग्निहोत्री आईआईटी मंडी की जी20-एस20 बैठक में मुख्य अतिथि थे। संबंधित अधिकारियों ने अपनी ओर से राज्य सरकार और आईआईटी मंडी के बीच सहयोग के लिए पूर्ण समर्थन व्यक्त किया है। G20 - S20 कार्यक्रम में व्यावसायिक शिक्षा, काम का भविष्य और समावेशी विकास सहित कौशल विकास से संबंधित विभिन्न विषयों पर गहन चर्चा हुई। इस संबंध में राज्य सरकार ने राज्य और पूरे देश के युवाओं को लाभ पहुंचाने के लिए कौशल विकास परियोजनाओं के प्रभावी कार्यान्वयन की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया है। बेरोजगारी, हाल ही में सबसे ज्वलंत मुद्दों में से एक रही है और देश भर की सरकारें इस समस्या से निपटने के लिए संघर्ष कर रही हैं। युवाओं को कौशल प्रदान करना एक शुरुआती बिंदु के रूप में लिया जा सकता है और बाद में, प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों को नियोक्ताओं की जरूरतों के अनुसार अपने पाठ्यक्रम को डिजाइन करने में मदद करने के लिए उद्योग-प्रशिक्षण संस्थान सहयोग और समय-समय पर बातचीत की जा सकती है।
