एमएस रामचंद्र राव हिमाचल के नए मुख्य न्यायाधीश नियुक्त।
- न्यायमूर्ति एमएस रामचंद्र राव को हिमाचल प्रदेश हाईकोर्ट का मुख्य न्यायाधीश नियुक्त किया गया है।
- उनका जन्म 7 अगस्त, 1966 को हैदराबाद में हुआ था।
- 7 सितंबर, 1989 को एक वकील के रूप में उनका नामांकन हुआ था।
- सुप्रीम कोर्ट कॉलेजियम ने न्यायमूर्ति एए सैयद की सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद न्यायमूर्ति राव को अगले मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्ति देने की सिफारिश की थी।
- मौजूदा वक्त में वरिष्ठतम जज न्यायमूर्ति तरलोक सिंह चौहान बतौर कार्यवाहक मुख्य न्यायाधीश सेवाएं दे रहे थे।
- 1991 बैच के कैंब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व छात्र रहे रामचंद्र राव को अपने मास्टर्स कोर्स के लिए कैंब्रिज कॉमनवेल्थ स्कॉलरशिप, बैंक ऑफ क्रेडिट और कॉमर्स इंटरनेशनल स्कॉलरशिप और इनर टेंपल के स्कॉलरशिप ट्रस्ट से पेगासस स्कॉलरशिप से भी सम्मानित किया गया है। उनके पिता न्यायमूर्ति एम जगन्नाथ राव भी न्यायाधीश थे।
- न्यायमूर्ति राव को 29 जून, 2012 को आंध्र प्रदेश के हाईकोर्ट के न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था। आंध्र प्रदेश राज्य के विभाजन के बाद उन्होंने तेलंगाना को अपने मूल हाईकोर्ट के रूप में चुना। उन्हें 12 अक्तूबर, 2021 को पंजाब और हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट के न्यायाधीश के रूप में स्थानांतरित किया गया था, जहां वह मौजूदा वक्त में न्यायाधीश थे।
यमूर्ति रामचंद्र राव ने हिमाचल हाईकोर्ट के 28वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में ली शपथ
- न्यायमूर्ति एमएस रामचंद्र राव ने हिमाचल प्रदेश हाईकोर्ट के 28वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में मंगलवार 28 May 2023 को शपथ ग्रहण की।
- राजभवन में आयोजित गरिमापूर्ण समारोह में राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल ने उन्हें पद एवं गोपनीयता की शपथ दिलाई। उसके बाद उन्होंने हाईकोर्ट में मुख्य न्यायाधीश का पदभार संभाला और उनके सम्मान में फुल कोर्ट का आयोजन किया गया।
- शपथ समारोह में मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू भी उपस्थित थे। इस अवसर पर मुख्य न्यायाधीश ने कहा कि पांच साल से अधिक पुराने और वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के मामलों के निस्तारण के लिए कदम उठाने की जरूरत है।
MS Ramachandra Rao appointed as the new Chief Justice of Himachal
- Justice MS Ramachandra Rao has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
- He was born on August 7, 1966, in Hyderabad.
- He was enrolled as an advocate on September 7, 1989.
- The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the appointment of Justice Rao as the next Chief Justice after the retirement of Justice AA Sayed.
- At present, the senior-most judge, Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, was serving as the acting chief justice.
- Ramachandra Rao, a 1991 batch University of Cambridge alumnus, has also been awarded the Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarship, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International Scholarship and the Pegasus Scholarship from Inner Temple's Scholarship Trust for his Masters's course. His father Justice M Jagannath Rao was also a judge.
- Justice Rao was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on June 29, 2012. He chose Telangana as his native High Court after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state. He was transferred as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 12, 2021, where he is currently a judge.
Yamurti Ramachandra Rao sworn in as the 28th Chief Justice of Himachal High Court
- Justice MS Ramachandra Rao was sworn in as the 28th Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday, 28 May 2023.
- Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla administered him the oath of office and secrecy in a dignified ceremony organized at Raj Bhavan. He then took over as the Chief Justice of the High Court and a full court was held in his honour.
- Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was also present at the oath ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice said that there is a need to take steps for the disposal of cases of senior citizens who are more than five years old.
