2. Prime Minister lays foundation stone for Bundelkhand Expressway

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Bundelkhand Expressway at Chitrakoot, UP.
  • The Expressway will be supplementing the nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor announced by the GoI in February 2018.
  • This expressway will link the Bundelkhand area to the national capital Delhi through Agra-Lucknow expressway and Yamuna expressway as well as play a vital role in the development of Bundelkhand region.

3. Offshore Patrol Vessel-6 “VAJRA” is launched at Chennai

  • The sixth offshore patrol vessel 'Yard 45006 VAJRA' to enhance coastal security was formally launched at Chennai.
  • The vessel, built by L&T under the 'Make in India' campaign, would be used for day and night patrolling.
  • The vessel is 98 metres long and 15 metres wide with a gross tonnage of 2,100 tonnes.
  • The ship would be fitted with CRN-91 and 12.7 mm guns and an integral twin-engine helicopter enhancing its operational, surveillance, search and rescue capability.
