GIC Assistant Manager Eligibility Criteria

Overall, there are 2 criteria on which the eligibility of a candidate is judged for GIC Assistant Manager position - Age Limit and Educational qualification. If you satisfy the age and education based conditions set by GIC then you are eligible for the exam.

A. Age Limit for GIC Assistant Manager (as on 8th May 2018)

  • Minimum Age – 21 years
  • Maximum Age – 30 years

Relaxations in Upper Age Limit

  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • PwD (Person with Disabilities) – 10 years
  • and others as per Government norms.

B. Educational Qualifications for GIC AM (as on 8th May 2018)

  • General Stream – You should be a Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 60% marks.
  • Hindi Stream – You should be a Post Graduate in Hindi with English as one of the subjects in Graduation OR Post Graduate in English with Hindi as one of the subjects in Graduation with at least 60% marks.

The GIC Assistant Manager Exam takes place in just 2 stages - Online exam and Interview. The 2 stages that you need to qualify to get recruited as an Assistant Manager with the General Insurance Corporation are:

Stage 2 – GD & Interview

The candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussion and Interview on the basis of overall marks scored in Part A + Part B + Part C of written examination out of total 150 marks. The minimum qualifying marks for Group Discussion & Interview is 60% marks separately.

About GIC Assistant Manager

  • The minimum qualifying marks for online written examination is 60% for GEN & OBC, and 50% for SC/ST.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for overall selection process (online written exam + GD + Interview) is 60% for GEN & OBC, and 50% for SC/ST.
  • There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  • The Written Test is bilingual i.e. English and Hindi except test of English Language.
