State Wise Cutoff of IBPS Clerk VI Prelims 2016



IBPS Clerk cut off 2016 of preliminary exam has been announced on December 16. The examination authority has declared sectional, overall and state wise cut off score. The IBPS Clerk cut off score is decided after normalising candidates’ marks using equipercentile method so that corrected scores can be obtained who appeared in different sessions of online test. IBPS clerk 2016 cut off is to delimit number of candidates for next rounds of recruitment process. IBPS Clerk 2016 preliminary exam was conducted in different slots on November 26, 27 and December 03 & 04, 2016 in online mode across various testing centres in India. Based on IBPS Clerk 2016 cut off of prelims, the examination authority selects around 3 lakh candidates for next round of selection procedure i.e. mains exam. Only those candidates who have secured sectional as well as overall IBPS Clerk cut off 2016 has been allowed to appear for mains exam. IBPS Clerk 2016 cut off have overall as well as sectional marks scored by candidates in English, numerical and reasoning ability sections.

IBPS Clerk 2016 mains exam is scheduled to be held on January 01, 2017. IBPS Clerk cut off 2016 for mains will be announced in January based on which candidates will be selected for allotment of clerical cadre posts in 19 public sector banks in India. The marks secured in IBPS Clerk 2016 mains exam will be only considered for allotment of 19,243 clerical posts in participating banks. According to IBPS, no interviews will be conducted for IBPS Clerks 2016 recruitment and candidates will be selected on the basis of their score secured in mains exam. As per the notification, 100% weightage will be given to the score obtained by candidates in the online main examination while preparing the IBPS clerk merit list for allotment. Candidates who will score higher marks in mains exam will be placed at higher ranks in IBPS Clerk merit list and amongst those having high ranks will be selected for allotment of banks as per their preference and merit. The examination conducting body will decide IBPS Clerk 2016 cut off score depending on number clerk vacancies in the States and Union Territories.

Calculation of IBPS Clerk Cut off 2016

Cutoffs will be applied in two stages:
(i) on scores in individual tests
(ii) on a total score

Formula for arriving at the IBPS Cut off on Total Scores

Total Score = Scores obtained in (Reasoning + English Language + Quantitative Aptitude + General Awareness + Computer Knowledge )
  • Mean – 3/4th of Standard Deviation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/EXS categories
  • Mean – 1/4th of Standard Deviation for General Category
  • There will be a second level cutoff point on total as per requirement

Understanding the IBPS Clerk Cut off 2016 

The Cut off of IBPS Clerk 2016 will be declared in three heads. The candidates to be considered for next round of recruitment process will have to satisfy all the three cutoffs.
Sectional Cut off of IBPS Clerk 2016: IBPS Clerk Cutoff marks as per the subjects or sections are mainly the marks that a candidate need to secure to clear each section. In another way round, it is the minimum qualifying marks one need for each section. 
Overall or Category wise Cut off of IBPS Clerk: The Overall or category wise cutoff list is based on the category such as General, OBC, SC, ST or PWD (Person with Disabilities, further divided as Hearing, Visually impaired and orthopedically challenged.). The Cutoff vary as per different categories. The candidates who secure more than the overall cutoff has a good chance to be considered for further rounds and final selection. 
State wise Cut off of IBPS Clerk 2016 : IBPS will also release State-wise Cutoff list. The Cutoff will vary as per the state the candidate has applied from. The State-wise cutoff is different for each state and at times is higher than the overall cutoff range. 

Stages of declaration of IBPS Clerk Cut off 2016 

Online Preliminary Examination Cut off 
  • The Online Preliminary Examination has been conducted for 100 marks.
  • Candidates who have secured the overall and sectional cutoff in the Preliminary Examination has been shortlisted for the Mains Examination. 
  • The Cutoff of the Prelims exam has been provided in the table below.
Mains Examination Cut off 
  • The Mains Examination of IBPS Clerk 2016 will be conducted for 200 marks. 
  • Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score. 
  • Depending on the number of the State/ UT wise vacancies available, cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for final allotment.
Final IBPS Clerk Cut off 2016 
  • IBPS has discontinued interview from the recruitment process for clerical cadre. Therefore 100 % weight age will be given to the score obtained by the candidate in the Online Main Examination of IBPS Clerk 2016. 
  • A candidate who qualifies in the Mains Examination and secures high in merit will be shortlisted for provisional allotment based on the reported vacancies by the participating organizations.

  • Cutoff can be considered as a selection benchmark for picking the most deserving and eligible candidates for the process of recruitment.
