योवेरी मुसेवेनी ने युगांडा के राष्ट्रपति के रूप में छठा कार्यकाल जीता
- युगांडा के वर्तमान राष्ट्रपति योवेरी मुसेवेनी को 2021 के लिए देश के राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के विजेता के रूप में घोषित किया गया है। मुसेवेनी ने राष्ट्रपति के रूप में छठा कार्यकाल जीतने के लिए कुल मतों में से 58.64 प्रतिशत प्राप्त किए।
- 76 वर्षीय नेता 1986 से युगांडा गणराज्य के राष्ट्रपति के रूप में सेवारत हैं और अफ्रीका के सबसे लंबे समय तक सेवा करने वाले राष्ट्रपतियों में से एक हैं।

नोएडा पुलिस ने तकनीकी सहायता के लिए माइक्रोसॉफ्ट के साथ समझौता किया
- पुलिस आयुक्त आलोक सिंह ने माइक्रोसॉफ्ट इंडिया के प्रतिनिधियों के साथ पुलिसिंग में सरलता और कौशल लाने की उम्मीद करते हुए समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
- गौतम बौद्ध नगर पुलिस और तकनीकी दिग्गज माइक्रोसॉफ्ट ने सोमवार को एक आधिकारिक बयान के अनुसार, इस पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश जिले में पुलिसिंग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक समझौता किया।
पीएम मोदी बने सोमनाथ मंदिर ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष
- प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को उस ट्रस्ट का नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया, जो गुजरात के गिर-सोमनाथ जिले के प्रभास पाटन शहर में विश्व प्रसिद्ध सोमनाथ मंदिर का प्रबंधन करता है, वे इस पद को संभालने वाले दूसरे पीएम बने। पूर्व पीएम मोरारजी देसाई के बाद, नरेंद्र मोदी दूसरे प्रधानमंत्री हैं जिन्हें मंदिर ट्रस्ट का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है। ट्रस्ट के रिकॉर्ड के अनुसार, पीएम मोदी ट्रस्ट के आठवें अध्यक्ष बन गए हैं। रिकॉर्ड के अनुसार, देसाई ने 1967 और 1995 के बीच अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया था।
- गुजरात के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री केशुभाई पटेल के पिछले साल अक्टूबर में निधन के बाद सोमनाथ ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष का पद रिक्त हो गया था। पटेल ने 16 वर्षों (2004-2020) के लिए अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया था। अन्य ट्रस्टियों में भाजपा नेता लालकृष्ण आडवाणी, केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह, गुजरात के विद्वान जेडी परमार और व्यापारी हर्षवर्धन नियोतिया शामिल हैं।
DRDO ने CRPF को सौंपी मोटर बाइक एम्बुलेंस रक्षिता
- रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन ने मोटर बाइक एम्बुलेंस रक्षिता को केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (CRPF) को सौंप दिया है। यह बाइक एम्बुलेंस भारतीय सुरक्षा बलों और आपातकालीन स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रदाताओं के सामने आने वाली समस्याओं में तत्काल मदद करेगी। यह बाइक कम तीव्र संघर्ष वाले इलाकों से घायलों को निकालने के दौरान जीवन रक्षक सहायता प्रदान करेगी।
- 'रक्षिता' में एक स्वनिर्धारित रिक्लाइनिंग कैजुअल्टी इवैक्यूएशन सीट (CES) लगाई गई है, जिसे आवश्यकता के अनुसार उपयोग किया जा सकता है।
- हेड इम्मोबिलाइज़र, सुरक्षा हार्नेस जैकेट, हाथों और पैरों की सुरक्षा के लिए सुरक्षा पट्टियाँ, ड्राइवर के लिए वायरलेस मॉनिटरिंग क्षमता और ऑटो चेतावनी प्रणाली के साथ फ़िज़ियोलॉजिकल पैरामीटर मापने वाले उपकरण भी अन्य प्रमुख विशेषताओं में शामिल है।

- प्रसिद्ध भारतीय ऑन्कोलॉजिस्ट और कैंसर की देखभाल करने वाली डॉ वी शांता का 93 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। डॉ वी शांता अड्यार कैंसर संस्थान के अध्यक्ष भी थी।
- डॉ वी शांता कैंसर देखभाल पर अपने काम के लिए और अपने गुरु के साथ कैंसर संस्थान के निर्माण के लिए जानी जाती थी। यह संस्थान सभी रोगियों को अत्याधुनिक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल प्रदान करने के लिए जाना जाता है, भले ही उनकी आर्थिक स्थिति कैसी भी हो।
हैदराबाद के सबसे प्रसिद्ध इतिहासकार नरेंद्र लूथर का निधन
- हैदराबाद के सबसे सम्मानित इतिहासकार नरेंद्र लूथर का मंगलवार को हैदराबाद के एक निजी अस्पताल में 88 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया।
- तत्कालीन आंध्र प्रदेश में एक IAS अधिकारी, वह 1959 में हैदराबाद चले गए और शहर के साथ गहरी जड़ें विकसित कीं। उन्होंने हैदराबाद के इतिहास के बारे में 13 किताबें लिखीं और शहर के चट्टानों के प्रति एक अटूट प्रेम था।

- पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपति कमल मोरारका का निधन हो गया है। उन्होंने 1990 से 1991 तक प्रधान मंत्री चंद्र शेखर के कार्यकाल में राज्य मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया। 74 वर्षीय नेता, एक व्यापारी जो BCCI के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष भी थे।
- वह समाजवादी जनता पार्टी (चंद्र शेखर) के अध्यक्ष थे।वह 1988 में राज्यसभा के लिए निर्वाचित हुए।

विश्ववीर आहूजा को RBL बैंक प्रमुख के रूप में पुन: नियुक्त किया गया
- RBL बैंक के निदेशक मंडल ने विश्ववीर आहूजा को तीन साल के लिए बैंक के प्रबंध निदेशक और सीईओ के रूप में पुन: नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी है। बैंक ने एक नियामक फाइलिंग में कहा कि पुन: नियुक्ति 30 जून, 2021 से 29 जून, 2024 तक प्रभावी है, और भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक को इसके अनुमोदन के लिए सिफारिश की जा रही है। वह 30 जून 2010 से RBL बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ हैं।
- RBL बैंक में शामिल होने से पहले, वह 2001 से 2009 तक बैंक ऑफ अमेरिका, भारत के एमडी और सीईओ थे। नियामकीय फाइलिंग के अनुसार, आहूजा के नेतृत्व में, बैंक का जमा लगभग 40 गुना बढ़ा हैं, जबकि 2011 से 45 बार अग्रिमों में वृद्धि हुई है।

Yoweri Museveni wins the sixth term as Uganda’s President
- Uganda’s incumbent President Yoweri Museveni has been declared as the winner of the country’s presidential election for 2021. Museveni secured 58.64 percent of the total votes cast, to win the sixth term as the President.
- The 76-year-old leader is serving as the President of the Republic of Uganda since 1986 and is one of Africa’s longest-serving presidents.

Noida Police ties up with Microsoft for tech support
- Police Commissioner Alok Singh signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with representatives of Microsoft India, hoping to bring in simplicity and skills in policing.
- The Gautam Buddh Nagar police and tech giant Microsoft on Monday entered into an agreement to boost policing in this western Uttar Pradesh district, according to an official statement.
PM Modi appointed chairman of Somnath Temple Trust
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi was appointed the new chairman of the trust which manages the world-famous Somnath Temple at Prabhas Patan town in Gujarat's Gir-Somnath district, becoming the second PM to hold the post. After former PM Morarji Desai, Narendra Modi is the second Prime Minister who has been appointed the chairman of the temple trust. As per trust records, PM Modi has become the eighth chairman of the trust. As per the records, Desai had served as the chairman between 1967 and 1995.
- The post of the Somnath Trust's chairman fell vacant after the death of the incumbent, former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, in October last year. Patel had served as the chairman for 16 years (2004-2020). Other trustees include BJP leader LK Advani, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat-based scholar JD Parmar, and businessman Harshvardhan Neotia.
DRDO hands over Motor Bike Ambulance Rakshita to CRPF
- Defense Research and Development Organisation has handed over Motor Bike Ambulance Rakshita to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The bike ambulance will help in overcoming the problems faced by Indian security forces and emergency health care providers. The bike ambulances will provide life-saving aid for the evacuation of injured patients from low-intensity conflict areas.
- Rakshita is fitted with a customized reclining Casualty Evacuation Seat (CES), which can be fitted in and taken out as per requirement.
- Other major features are the head immobilizer, safety harness jacket, hand and foot straps for safety, adjustable footrest, physiological parameter measuring equipment with wireless monitoring capability,, and auto warning system for the driver.
- The bike ambulance will help in overcoming the problems faced by Indian security forces and emergency health care providers. The bike ambulances will provide life-saving aid for the evacuation of injured patients from low-intensity conflict areas.

Carolina Marin wins Yonex Thailand Open badminton tournament 2021
- Reigning Olympic champion Carolina Marin bolstered her chances of defending her title in Tokyo later this year after claiming the Thailand Open in Bangkok over top seed Tai Tzu-Ying. The Yonex Thailand Open Super 1000 badminton tournament was held from 12 January 2021 to 17 January 2021. It was the first badminton tournament of 2021 by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

- Men’s Category: Viktor Axelsen (Denmark) defeated Angus Long (Hong Kong) to clinch the Men’s Singles Title.

Dr. V Shanta, the renowned Indian oncologist, passes away
- Dr. V Shanta, the renowned Indian oncologist, and doyen of cancer care have passed away at the age of 93. Dr. V Shanta was also the chairperson of Adyar Cancer Institute.
- Dr. V Shanta was known for her work on cancer care and for building the Cancer Institute with her mentor. The institute is known for providing state-of-the-art health care to all patients, irrespective of their economic condition.
Hyderabad’s best-known historian Narendra Luther passes away at 88
- Hyderabad’s most respected historian Narendra Luther passed away on Tuesday at a private hospital in Hyderabad at the age of 88. Also a bureaucrat, poet, and an authority on all things Hyderabadi.
- An IAS officer in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, he moved to Hyderabad in 1959 and developed deep roots with the city. He penned 13 books about Hyderabad’s history and had an undying love for the city’s rockscape.
Former Union Minister and Industrialist Kamal Morarka passes away
- Former Union minister and noted industrialist Kamal Morarka has passed away. He served as the Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office under Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar from 1990 to 1991.
- The 74-year-old leader, a businessman who was also a former BCCI vice president. He was the incumbent president of the Samajwadi Janata Party (Chandra Shekhar). He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1988.

Vishwavir Ahuja re-appointed as RBL Bank chief
- The board of directors of RBL Bank has approved the re-appointment of Vishwavir Ahuja as the Managing Director and CEO of the bank for three years. The re-appointment is with effect from June 30, 2021, to June 29, 2024, and the same is being recommended to the Reserve Bank of India and shall be subject to their approval, the bank said in a regulatory filing. He has been MD & CEO of RBL Bank since June 30, 2010.
- Before joining RBL Bank, he was the MD & CEO of Bank of America, India, from 2001 to 2009. As per the regulatory filing, under Ahuja’s leadership, the deposits of the bank have grown almost 40 times, while advances have grown more than 45 times since 2011.
