Himachal CM unveils 18-feet statue of Vajpayee in Shimla
- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has unveiled an 18-feet tall statue of late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of his 96th birth anniversary at the historic Ridge in the state capital.
- The statue has been built at Rs 1.08 crore. The Ridge Maidan also houses statues of Mahatma Gandhi and former prime minister Indira Gandhi.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launches E-Sampada web portal
- Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri has launched E-Sampada, a new web portal and mobile app on Good Governance Day. The new application provides a single-window for all the services including an allotment for over one lakh government residential accommodations, office space allotment to government organisations in 45 office complexes in 28 cities and booking of 1,176-holiday homerooms.
- The portal provides online facility to users across India to lodge complaints, submit documents and appear for the virtual hearing.
- This is a significant step towards the promotion of e-governance to enhance transparency and accountability in providing various estate services like allotment, retention, regularisation and no dues certificate.
- The real-time information on utilisation of assets and delivery of service will facilitate optimum utilisation of resources.
- The automated processes will minimize human intervention and will lead to greater transparency.
Punjab Govt launches mobile app and web portal ‘PR Insight’
- Punjab Chief Minister Captain, Amarinder Singh has launched Mobile Application and web portal called ‘PR Insight’, to improve the delivery of citizen-centric services, based upon the feedback of its citizens on government policies. The basic objective of PR Insight is to re-orient the existing schemes and programmes of the state government to the people’s satisfaction after meticulously monitoring their feedback.
- PR Insight application has been developed by the Information & Public Relations Department to provide a single repository & dashboard of all the news articles & social media posts of the State.
- This single repository of news articles and social media posts are then analysed using advance analytics and sentiment analysis tools to understand citizen feedback on Government policies and perception of Governance by the citizens.
- As many as 31 leading Newspaper agencies/portals have been integrated online with PR Insight application & portal and all the State Departments’ news articles are fetched from these newspaper agencies on a real-time basis.
- The app will monitor the citizen’s feedback and subsequently ensure responsive and transparent administration in the State.
India’s first Lithium refinery to be set up in Gujarat
- India’s first Lithium refinery is soon going to be set up in Gujarat. Manikaran Power Limited, one of the country’s largest power trading and renewable energy company will invest around Rs 1,000 crore to set up this refinery. The refinery will process Lithium ore to produce battery-grade material. Lithium is a rare element and is usually not found in India.
- Last year, Manikaran Power had collaborated with Australian firm Neometals to tap the Mount Marion Lithium mine in Western Australia. The proposed project is expected to help Gujarat secure the raw material supply for domestic manufacturing of Lithium batteries as it looks to promote electric vehicles.

FIFA cancels next year’s U-20, U-17 World Cups
- FIFA has cancelled men’s U-20 and U-17 World Cup tournaments in 2021 for the novel coronavirus. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bureau of the FIFA Council has decided to cancel the 2021 editions of the men’s FIFA U-20 World Cup and FIFA U-17 World Cup, and to appoint Indonesia and Peru respectively, who were due to host the tournaments in 2021, as the hosts of the 2023 editions.
- So Peru will host the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2023. In the same year, the FIFA U-20 World Cup will be held by Indonesia.
OBITUARY
Legendary Urdu poet Shamsur Rahman Faruqi passes away
- Legendary Urdu poet and critic, Shamsur Rahman Faruqi has passed away, a month after recovering from C-19.
- He received Saraswati Samman in 1996 for his work ‘She's-e Shor-Angez’, a four-volume study of the eighteenth-century poet Mir Taqi Mir. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honour of Padma Shri in 2009.
Former England batsman John Edrich passes away
- Former English first-class batsman John Edrich has passed away. He was amongst the best players of his generation, during a career that ran from 1956 to 1978. He played 77 test matches for England, and scored more than 5,000 runs, spanning 13 years between 1963 and 1976.
- He scored a triple-century during a test match in 1965 that is the fifth-highest Test score for England.

A new book titled ‘Covid-19: Sabhyata ka Sankat our Samadhan’ released
- Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi’s new book titled ‘Covid-19: Sabhyata ka Sankat Aur Samadhan’ (Covid-19: Crisis of Civilisation and Solutions) was launched by former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh. The Hindi book, published by Prabhat Prakashan.
- The new book discusses how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the common way of life while suggesting solutions to the ongoing crisis triggered by the disease. The book discusses how the pandemic has influenced the education system, business, politics, public safety, foreign policy, law, medicine, economy and development of countries.

हिमाचल के मुख्यमंत्री ने शिमला में वाजपेयी की 18 फीट की प्रतिमा का अनावरण किया
- हिमाचल प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री जय राम ठाकुर ने राज्य की राजधानी में ऐतिहासिक रिज पर दिवंगत पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के 96 वीं जयंती के अवसर पर उनकी 18 फीट ऊंची प्रतिमा का अनावरण किया है।
- यह प्रतिमा 1.08 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनाई गई है। रिज मैदान में महात्मा गांधी और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी की मूर्तियां भी हैं।
केंद्रीय मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने लॉन्च किया E-Sampada वेब पोर्टल
- आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री, हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने सुशासन दिवस पर एक नया वेब पोर्टल और मोबाइल ऐप ई-सम्पदा लॉन्च किया है। यह नया एप्लीकेशन एक लाख से अधिक सरकारी आवासीय व्यवस्थाओं के आवंटन, सरकारी संगठनों को 28 शहरों में 45 कार्यालय परिसरों में कार्यालय स्थान आवंटन और 1,176-हॉलिडे होमरूम की बुकिंग सहित सभी सेवाओं के लिए सिंगल-विंडो प्रदान करता है।
- यह पोर्टल भारत भर में उपयोगकर्ताओं को शिकायतें दर्ज करने, दस्तावेज प्रस्तुत करने और आभासी सुनवाई के लिए उपस्थित होने के लिए ऑनलाइन सुविधा प्रदान करता है।
- आवंटन, प्रतिधारण, नियमितीकरण और नो ड्यूस प्रमाण पत्र जैसी विभिन्न संपदा सेवाएं प्रदान करने में पारदर्शिता और जवाबदेही बढ़ाने के लिए ई-गवर्नेंस को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में यह एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
- परिसंपत्तियों के उपभोग और सेवा वितरण पर वास्तविक समय की जानकारी संसाधनों के इष्टतम उपभोग की सुविधा प्रदान करेगी।

पंजाब सरकार ने लॉन्च किया मोबाइल ऐप और वेब पोर्टल ‘PR Insight’
- पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री, कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने सरकारी नीतियों पर अपने नागरिकों की प्रतिक्रिया के आधार पर नागरिक-केंद्रित सेवाओं की डिलीवरी में सुधार करने के लिए ‘PR Insight’ नामक मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन और वेब पोर्टल लॉन्च किया है। PR Insight का मूल उद्देश्य जनता की प्रतिक्रियाओं पर सावधानीपूर्वक निगरानी रखने के बाद जनता की संतुष्टि के लिए राज्य सरकार की मौजूदा योजनाओं और कार्यक्रमों को नई दिशा देना है।
- सूचना और जनसंपर्क विभाग द्वारा PR Insight एप्लिकेशन राज्य के सभी समाचार लेखों और सोशल मीडिया पोस्टों का एक एकल रिपॉजिटरी और डैशबोर्ड प्रदान करने के लिए विकसित किया गया है।
- फिर इन समाचार लेखों और सोशल मीडिया पोस्टों के एकल रिपॉजिटरी का सरकारी नीतियों और नागरिकों द्वारा शासन की धारणा पर नागरिक प्रतिक्रिया को समझने के लिए एडवांस एनालिटिक्स और सेंटिमेंट एनालिसिस उपकरणों का उपयोग करके विश्लेषण किया जाता है।
- PR Insight एप्लिकेशन और पोर्टल के साथ अधिकतम 31 प्रमुख समाचार पत्र एजेंसियों / पोर्टलों को ऑनलाइन एकीकृत किया गया है तथा सभी राज्य विभागों के समाचार लेख इन समाचार एजेंसियों से वास्तविक समय पर प्राप्त किए जाते हैं।
- ऐप नागरिक की प्रतिक्रिया की निगरानी करेगा और बाद में राज्य में उत्तरदायी और पारदर्शी प्रशासन सुनिश्चित करेगा।
गुजरात में स्थापित होगी भारत की पहली लिथियम रिफाइनरी
- भारत की पहली लिथियम रिफाइनरी जल्द ही गुजरात में स्थापित होने जा रही है। मणिकरण पावर लिमिटेड, देश की सबसे बड़ी बिजली व्यापार और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा कंपनी है, जो इस रिफाइनरी को स्थापित करने के लिए लगभग 1,000 करोड़ रुपये का निवेश करेगी। रिफाइनरी बैटरी-ग्रेड सामग्री के उत्पादन के लिए लिथियम ओर को प्रोसेस करेगा। लिथियम एक दुर्लभ तत्व है और आमतौर पर भारत में नहीं पाया जाता है।
- पिछले वर्ष, मणिकरण पावर ने ऑस्ट्रेलियाई फर्म न्यूमेटल के साथ मिलकर पश्चिमी ऑस्ट्रेलिया में माउंट मैरियन लिथियम खदान का दोहन किया था। प्रस्तावित परियोजना से गुजरात को लिथियम बैटरी के घरेलू निर्माण के लिए कच्चे माल की आपूर्ति को सुरक्षित करने में मदद मिलने की उम्मीद है क्योंकि यह इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों को बढ़ावा देता है।

फीफा ने रद्द किया अगले साल का U-20, U-17 विश्व कप
- फीफा ने नॉवेल कोरोनवायरस के कारण 2021 में पुरुषों के U-20 और U-17 विश्व कप टूर्नामेंट को रद्द कर दिया है। C-19 महामारी के परिणामस्वरूप, फीफा परिषद के ब्यूरो ने पुरुषों के फीफा U-20 विश्व कप और फीफा U-17 विश्व कप के 2021 संस्करणों को रद्द करने तथा क्रमशः इंडोनेशिया और पेरू को 2023 संस्करणों के मेजबान के रूप में नियुक्त करने का निर्णय लिया है, जो 2021 में टूर्नामेंट की मेजबानी करने वाले थे।
- इस प्रकार पेरू 2023 में फीफा U-17 विश्व कप की मेजबानी करेगा। उसी वर्ष, फीफा U-20 विश्व कप का आयोजन इंडोनेशिया द्वारा किया जाएगा।

प्रसिद्ध उर्दू कवि शम्सुर्रहमान फारुकी का निधन
- C-19 से उबरने के एक महीने बाद प्रसिद्ध उर्दू कवि और आलोचक, शम्सुर्रहमान फारुकी का निधन हो गया है। उन्हें 1996 में अपने काम अठारहवीं शताब्दी के कवि मीर तकी मीर पर किए गए चार-संस्करण अध्ययन ‘शेर-ए शोर-अंजेज़’ के लिए सरस्वती सम्मान से सम्मानित किया गया था।
- भारत सरकार ने उन्हें 2009 में नागरिक सम्मान पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया था।
इंग्लैंड के पूर्व बल्लेबाज जॉन एडरिक का निधन
- पूर्व इंग्लिश प्रथम श्रेणी के बल्लेबाज जॉन एडरिक का निधन हो गया है। वह 1956 से 1978 तक के करियर के दौरान अपनी पीढ़ी के सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ियों में से थे। उन्होंने इंग्लैंड के लिए 77 टेस्ट मैच खेले, और 1963 से 1976 के बीच 13 वर्षों के दौरान 5,000 से अधिक रन बनाए।
- उन्होंने 1965 में एक टेस्ट मैच में ट्रिपल-सेंचुरी बनाई, जो इंग्लैंड के लिए पांचवां सबसे बड़ा टेस्ट स्कोर है।

- नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता कैलाश सत्यार्थी की नई पुस्तक ‘Covid-19: सभ्यता का संकट और समाधन’ (Covid-19: Crisis of Civilisation and Solutions) का विमोचन भारत के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश दीपक मिश्रा और राज्यसभा के उप सभापति हरिवंश नारायण सिंह द्वारा किया गया. इस हिंदी पुस्तक का प्रकाशन प्रभात प्रकाशन द्वारा किया गया।
- नई पुस्तक में इस बात पर चर्चा की गई है कि किस तरह से Covid -19 महामारी ने बीमारी से उत्पन्न संकट के समाधान का सुझाव देते हुए जीवन के सामान्य तरीके को प्रभावित किया है। पुस्तक में चर्चा की गई है कि कैसे महामारी ने शिक्षा प्रणाली, व्यापार, राजनीति, सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा, विदेश नीति, कानून, चिकित्सा, अर्थव्यवस्था और देशों के विकास को प्रभावित किया है।
