  • ISRO Chairman K Sivan has been conferred with Doctor of Science honorary doctorate at Visvesvaraya Technological University under Government of Karnataka
  • The honour was presented to the ISRO Chief by Karnataka’s Governor Vajubhai Vala.
  • K Sivan is an Indian space scientist and is current Secretary (Space) and ex-officio chairman of ISRO and Space Commission.
  • He has previously served as Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center and the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre.

  • Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR), Uttar Pradesh has won a first-ever international award, TX2, along with state Forest department, for doubling the number of tigers.
  • TX2 stands for ‘Tigers times two’, signalling the goal to double wild tigers.
  • PTR is 1st to receive award among all the 13 tiger range countries like India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam
