You must have passed the Class 12 from a recognized Board or University.

SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure

Your SSC Stenographer Recruitment will be completed in 2 stages – Computer Based Test and Skill Test. There will be no interview for the selection.After you qualify both the stages, you will be called for Document Verification after which final selection will be made.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2018

Computer Based Test will have 3 sections –
  • Reasoning
  • English Language
  • General Awareness
The total marks will be 200 and total time will be 2 hours.

  • On clearing the SSC Stenographer Written Test, you will be called for a Skill Test

SSC Stenographer Skill Test

  1. You will give a test for dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi.
  2. The speed will be 100 w.p.m for Grade C Stenographer and the speed for Grade D Stenographer will be 80 w.p.m.
  3. You will have to transcribe the dictation on a computer in a given amount of time.The transcription time will be:
    Grade C – 40 min (English), 55 min (Hindi)
    Grade D – 50 min (English), 65 min (Hindi)

How to Apply for SSC Stenographer 2018

  2. You have to Register first.
  3. Fill the Application form for registration.
  4. You will receive a registration number & password.
  5. You should note it down for future use.
  6. Now you can log in with your registration number & password that you have received at the time of registration.
  7. Go to Apply where the page will appear like this ⇓ 
  8. Click on Apply & fill the application form.
  9. Further, Upload your latest Photograph & Signature and complete your application form.
  10. Click on Submit button.
  11. Proceed to pay the application fees online.
  12. Alternatively, you can also go to the Official SSC Website.
  13. Repeat the instructions steps 2-9.

  • Gen/OBC – Rs 100/-
  • SC/ST/PWD – No fee

SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2018

SSC will be release the Admit Card of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ CBT 2 weeks before exam. Admit Card will be released for all the stages of selection. If you qualify CBT then you will have to appear for the Skill Test. Admit Card for Skill Test will be released by SSC only for those candidates who have successfully qualified the Written Exam.

SSC Stenographer Result

SSC Stenographer Result will be first declared for Computer Based Test. If you clear the written exam will be eligible for Skill Test. The Result for Skill Test will be declared after the same has been conducted by Staff Selection Commission of India. You have to qualify all the levels to ensure their final selection through SSC Stenographer 2018.

SSC Stenographer Cut-Off

More About SSC Stenographer 2018

  • Candidates who opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment, failing which their probation may not be cleared by appointing departments.
  • Candidates have to work as English/ Hindi stenographers as per the functional requirement of the User Office irrespective of the medium of Skill Test of candidate during the examination.
