SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis 2018: The State Bank of India held the preliminary examination for the post of Probationary Officer today. The SBI PO Prelims Examination is being conducted in multiple shifts, and we will provide an in-depth paper review at the end of each.


The SBI PO 2018 prelims exam is Scheduled Today (1st July) and on 7th & 8th July. There are 3 sections in SBI PO prelims (English, Quant and Reasoning) with total marks of 100 and 20 minutes duration for each section. Here are some Highlights of SBI PO Prelims Exam 2018
  • Section Sequence - English, Reasoning, and Quant
  • Variations - Questions varied in a second shift as compared to the first shift. 
  • Numerical Ability - Quantitative Aptitude turned out to be the comparatively easier one.
  • Reasoning - The Reasoning Section was quite time-consuming. 
  • English - English emerged as the moderate section as reported by candidates. 
  • There is no new pattern introduced but some questions were there which previously used to be asked in mains only.
The Examination held in this shift was of Moderate to Lengthy Level.

SBI PO Exam Analysis 2018: Section-wise Analysis

Owing to the sectional time limits introduced in this year’s exam, the order of attempt of the sections was pre-decided and fixed. The order in which the sections had to be attempted were: English, Reasoning and finally Quantitative Aptitude.

Among all three sections of Today's 01st slot, the quantitative aptitude section was comparatively easier but the level was Moderate.

English Language - SBI PO 2018 Exam Analysis 1st July

English section was of Moderate Level, This section was easier in this 2nd slot.
  • There were only 05 question in the set of Reading Comprehension out of which 01 question was of vocabulary. 
  • Sentence Rearrangement was based on Globalization 
  • Reading Comprehension was based on an article Economy Based related to investment and savings of a consumer.

The level of reasoning was Moderate to Lengthy. Puzzles were time-consuming but apart from puzzles, there were other questions in which students could score.
