  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) put state-run lender Dena Bank under prompt corrective action PCA) framework.
    • With this, Dena Bank becomes the first lender to face curbs on lending under PCA framework.
  • The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its Asia and Pacific Regional Economic Outlook report reaffirmed that India will be the fastest growing major economy in 2018, with growth rate of 7.4% in 2018 and 7.8% in 2019.
  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) projected India to remain the fastest growing Asian nation with 7.3% growth in 2018-19 and 7.6% in 2019-20.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) would buy Rs. 10,000 crore ($1.50 billion) of govt bonds via open market operation (OMO), after failing to sell all the debt it had offered to bidders earlier.

  • The Ministry of Tourism decided to expand Buddhist tourism circuit under Swadesh Darshan Scheme to 21 more states to make it India’s first trans-national tourist circuit.
