SBI PO Pre Exam Analysis 2017, Expected Cutoff 07 May 2017 - 2nd Slot


The State Bank of India has started its recruitment for the year 2017. The SBI PO Prelims Exam is taking place for the Recruitment of Probationary Officer. With over 2313 vacancies announced for the post of Probationary Officers this SBI PO Exam. It is very important to know the SBI PO Analysis of Prelims for each stage of the exam. 

SBI PO Preliminary Exam 2017 started from 29th April 2017. The Third Set of this exam will be conducted today, i.e. 07 May 2017 in 04 different Slots. We have provided the exam analysis of SBI PO Prelims Exam 2017 for 06 May 2017  Now.

The total time was 1 hour i.e. 60 minutes. Hence, Speed, Accuracy and Planning is surely needed to have good number of attempts with maximum accuracy.

Overall difficulty level of the SBI PO Prelims exam Second Shift 2017 was Moderate, No change in pattern as compare to previous shifts.



SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis for English Language Section

    In English section, 10 questions came from Phrase correction topic which was something new for the candidates. Cloze Test is based on word correction type and . Rest topic were same as compare to previous bank exams.


    Reading Comprehension – 10 Qs – Moderate – 2 Qs, Argument Based – 1 Qs, Which of the following could not be the theme of passage – 1 Qs, Main Idea – 1 Qs, Authors View – 1 Qs, Antonyms – 2 Qs, Synonyms – 2 Qs)
    Cloze Test – 10 Qs Easy  
    Sentence Correction/Error Spotting – 10 Qs Easy (Mainly Prepositional Errors and tense based errors were asked )(Attempt this first)

    SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis for Reasoning Section

    Reasoning is of Moderate level and out of 4 Puzzles, two were doable but time taking. Rest topics are doable which were based on coding decoding, Inequality, Direction sense, blood relation, Order ranking etc.


    Scheduling – 5 Qs – Moderate – 5 two months were given with dates (Time consuming)

    Linear Arrangement – 5 Qs – Moderate – 15 people are sitting in a straight line. All of them are facing north (One more variable was given).

    Floor Puzzle – 5 Qs – Moderate - There was a floor based puzzle in which 8 people were given(Moderate level)

    Arrangement Puzzle – 5 Qs – Moderate – based on Birth year of different persons

    Inequality – 5 Qs – Easy  (2 were of indirect inequality , 3 were of indirect inequality)

    Blood Relations – 2 Qs – Easy

    Directions & Distances – 2 Qs – Moderate

    Coding decoding – 1 Qs – Easy

    Ranking – 2 Qs – Moderate

    Data Sufficiency – 3 Qs – Moderate

    SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis for Quants Section

    Quantitative Aptitude was the easiest section in all the three sections and of  Moderate level. Number Series and Quadratic equation are the topics in which candidate can secure full marks. 

    Data Interpretation – 10 Qs (2 set)
    1. Tabular Graph – Calculative –  It was based on ratio,
    2. Line Graph – Easy - . It was based on data of 2 years
    Number Series – 5 Qs – Easy to Moderate



    Simplification – 5 Qs – Easy

    Quadratic Equations –  5 Qs – Easy

    Miscellaneous* – 10 Qs – Moderate
    *Miscellaneous Questions are based on the topics {Time Speed Distance, Average Speed, Boat & Stream, Trains, Time & Work, Pipes & Cisterns, Efficiency, Mixtures & Alligations, Dishonest Dealings, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Partnership, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Ratio Proportion, Percentages, Averages, Problems on Age}
