How much time to be devoted for each section?

There are 4 sections asked in SSC CGL Tier 1 exam which are General Awareness, Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude. All the four sections are important but this time, time limit has been reduced to 60 minutes. Devote more time on the topics which are scoring and takes less time to answer. English and GK are the two sections which you can attempt in less time and score well. This does not mean that you have to leave Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. Just give 1 hour daily for English, 1 hour for GK, 1 hour for Reasoning and 2 hours for Quantitative Aptitude. This makes total 5 hours. If you follow this for next 70-80 days, you are going to crack your exam provided you study with concentration and practice regularly.

How to attempt 100 questions in just 60 minutes?

You should effectively manage your time to attempt 100 questions in just 1 hour. Fix your time for each section so that you will attempt the whole paper effectively. If you are left with 5-7 minutes then just revise the paper and check for those questions which you left. Section Wise time management is mentioned below.
  1. General Awareness - 8 to 10 minutes
  2. Reasoning- 12 to 15 minutes
  3. English- 15 minutes
  4. Quantitative Aptitude-  20 minutes

How to increase my speed in Quantitative Aptitude section?

This year SSC is going to check your speed and this is the most important part on which students should work. Slow and Steady wins the race is not going to work in CGL 2017. You need to be really fast.

Will I clear SSC CGL this time because I could not do it last year?

Many of you think that time, time limit has been reduced to 60 minutes so cut-off will be reduced from previous year(2016) which was 137 for general. This is just a myth. How many Vacancies are there in SSC this time?
