TAL Manufacturing Solutions has unveiled India’s first conceptualized, designed and manufactured articulated industrial robot called ‘BRABO’ (Bravo Robot).
It has been developed indigenously for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in India.
The robot is primarily developed to complement the human workforce and repeatedly perform high volume, dangerous and time-consuming tasks ranging from handling of raw materials to packaging of finished products.
SBI becomes India's most valued Public Sector Company
The State Bank of India (SBI) has become India's most valued Public Sector Company (PSU) in terms of market capitalization (m-cap) in intra-day trade.
SBI has surpassed oil exploration major Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
According to BSE data, SBI with m-cap of 239,808 crores was ahead of ONGC having m-cap of Rs. 236,003 crore.
SBI is at the fifth position, while ONGC is seventh in the top-10 most valued companies list.
SEBI launches revamped website with user-friendly features
The ‘Securities and Exchange Board of India’ (SEBI) has launched its revamped website having several user-friendly features and compatible for desktop and mobile devices.
The website also allows visitors to share web pages on their social media network.
The new website is compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for making web content more accessible to differently abled people and also conforms to the guidelines for Indian government websites.

RBI opened the Office of the Banking Ombudsman at J&K and Chhattisgarh
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set up two new Offices of the Banking Ombudsman in Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) and in Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
Earlier, the banking services related complaints from entire Jammu & Kashmir used to fall under the jurisdiction of New Delhi-I banking ombudsman office and Chhattisgarh in
Now, the banking ombudsman offices have now increased to 20 across the country.

Haryana govt to provide accidental insurance cover
The Haryana Government has decided to provide accidental insurance cover to all residents of the State having Aadhaar seeded saving bank accounts, in the age group of 18 to 70 years under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’ (PMSBY).
The premium would be reimbursed by the state government.
The sum insured would be two lakh rupees each in the case of accidental death, and, in the case of total and irrecoverable loss.
The scheme would be with one year cover, renewable from year to year and would be offered through banks and administered through public sector general insurance companies and other general insurance companies.
West Bengal Govt. introduces Social Security Yojana, converges 5 beneficiary schemes
The West Bengal Government has introduced the ‘Social Security Yojana’ by converging five separate beneficiary schemes for workers in the unorganized sectors and for self-employed people.
Around 5 crore people will benefit from the Yojana, with around 1 crore getting direct benefits.
People will derive more benefits from this new scheme, as compared to the five earlier schemes.
The State Government has also started another scheme 'State Nutrition Mission', to ensure distribution of nutritious food among pregnant women, lactating mothers, children below six years and adolescent girls.
Note: The five separate beneficiary schemes are State Assistance Scheme for Provident Fund for Unorganised Sector, West Bengal Unorganised Sector Workers’ Health Security Scheme, Social Security scheme for Construction Workers, West Bengal Transport Workers Social Security Scheme, and West Bengal Bidi Workers Welfare Scheme.
Uttar Pradesh Govt. renames ‘Gorakhpur’ and ‘Agra’ Airports
The UP government has changed the name of Gorakhpur and Agra Airports as well as the name of the department of welfare of the differently abled.
The Gorakhpur Airforce Station has been renamed as ‘Mahayogi Goraknath Airport’ and the Agra Airport will be ‘Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’
Now, the Department of Disabled Welfare will now be known as 'Divyang Jan Vikas Empowerment'.
Former AP minister ‘Devineni Rajashekhar’ passes away
Former Andhra Pradesh minister ‘Devineni Rajashekhar’ passed away in Hyderabad.
He was elected to Andhra Pradesh (AP) assembly from Kankipadu in 1983 and retained the seat in 1985, 1989, and 1994.
Rajashekhar was the Education Minister in N. T. Rama Rao govt. in 1994.
Devendra Kumar Sharma appointed as Chairman of BBMB
Devendra Kumar Sharma has been appointed as the Chairman of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) for three years.
He is serving as the Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited for implementing and commissioning Tata Hydro Power Station in Bhutan.
Note: BBMB manages the release of water in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan as it controls Bhakra, Pong, and other dams.
ICC names ‘Ganguly’ & ‘Ponting’ as commentators for upcoming Champions Trophy
International captains Sourav Ganguly (India) and Ricky Ponting (Australia) are a part of a stellar line-up of commentators named by the ICC for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Some of the other former captains in the line-up include Brendon McCullum (New Zealand), Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) and Graeme Smith (South Africa).
The eight-team tournament kicks off with host England playing Bangladesh at The Oval on 1st
