These two eligibility criteria are first time introduced by State bank of India in their advertisement notice for Probationary officer.

Unpaid loan:

An applicant who has an unpaid loan debt or any kind of default in unpaid loan record or bad credit history is not available for appointment. • The bank employees union seeking immunity for education loan borrowers to this rule. The general secretary of Bank Employees Federation of India Pradip Biswas said “such borrowers should not be equated with willful defaulters… they can start repayment only when gainfully employed”.

The Unattainable issue against character:

  • The other one is Issue against applicant’s character. SBI clear says in their official notification – “candidates against whom there is/are adverse report regarding character and antecedents, moral turpitude are not eligible to apply for the post.”
  • It means any applicant with any bad character report/ unattainable issue against character/ pending police case/ a lawsuit/ bad behavior history is not eligible for SBI PO recruitment process 2017. With increasing number of frauds, SBI wants employees with clean character history.
