Government holds off the ban on  NDTV.

The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had earlier put a 1 day ban on NDTV India. The channel was supposed to stop the telecast for November 9, 2016.
The ban was imposed in view of the live coverage of the Pathankot Terrorist Attack by the channel, giving away sensitive information which was in violation of the programme/Advertising Code.

Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan launched by the Central Government.

The Scheme was launched by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, J P Nadda in New Delhi.
The scheme has been launched with a view to provide pregnant women with antenatal services and required treatment at government health centres and hospitals, free of cost on 9th of every month.

An Era of Darkness – The British Empire in India launched by Vice – President.

The book authored by Shashi Tharoor was launched by Vice President, M. Hamid Ansari.
The book points out the detailed account of Colonial rule in the country and the way its shadow affected Modern India.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards presented by the President.

President Pranab Mukherji awarded the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam INGITE Awards to the children who won the IGNITE competition at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The competition was organised by the National Innovation Foundation to focus on the creativity of the children and promote inclusive thinking among them.

NASA sets new World Record.

The Magnetospheric Multi Scale (MMS) Mission has set a new Guinness World Record for the highest altitude fix of a GPS signal.
This space record has been set by the 4 MMS satellites by using GPS navigation at an altitude of 43,500 miles (70,000 kilometers) above Earth’s surface.

2016 RSF – TV5 Monde Press Freedom Prize awarded to Hadi Abdullah.

The Syrian journalist was awarded with the honour for reporting from some of the most perilous zones in his country during the five year war.
The ceremony was organised in Strasbourg as a part of World Forum for Democracy, a meeting organised by the Council of Europe.

Ratnesh Kumar appointed as the new CEO and MD of Bank of Baroda Capital Markets Ltd.

BOB Capital Market Ltd is the investment banking subsidiary of the state run, Bank of Baroda.
Kumar has also held the position of CEO of Standard Chartered Securities India.

Rajeshwar Rao appointed as Executive Director by RBI.

Mr. Rao has been appointed to look after the Department of Statistics and Information Management, Financial Markets Operation Department and International Department.
The appointment was made after G Mahalingam opted for voluntary retirement from the central bank.

Vani Venkatesh appointed as CEO – Retail by Airtel.

She will look after Airtel’s retail strategy to deliver a seamless customer experience.
The appointment was made by Bharti Airtel after Rohit Malhotra stepped down from the post.

Rishabh Pant scores fastest hundred in Indian first class cricket.

The wicketkeeper and batsman from Delhi was playing in the Ranji Trophy against Jharkhand.
He hit the century off 48 balls.

First female U.S. Attorney General passes away.

Janet Reno, the first female attorney general of U.S. passed away in Florida.
She was also the second-longest serving Attorney General in U.S. history, after William Wirt.
