RBI launches portal to curb illegal money
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a website (sachet.rbi.org.in) to curb illegal and unauthorised pooling of funds by unscrupulous firms. The website was launched by RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It will help people obtain information about entities allowed to collect deposits.

Gujarat HC quashes 10% quota for economically backward classes
The Gujarat high court has quashed 10 percent reservation quota for the economically backward classes (EBCs). In this regard, the Court has declared The Gujarat Unreserved Economically Weaker Sections (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions in the State and of Appointments and Posts in Services under the State) Ordinance, 2016 unconstitutional.

Pakistan based Jamaat-ur-Ahrar designated a ‘terror group
The United States declared Pakistan based Jamaat-ur-Ahrar (JuA) as a ‘terror group’ by adding it to its list of global terrorists. This declaration triggers sanctions against the terrorist faction that has staged multiple attacks on civilians, religious minorities and soldiers. Besides anyone who supports Jamaat-ur-Ahrar could have his assets frozen by the US Government.

LG is the administrative head of National Capital Territory: Delhi High Court
The Delhi High Court has ruled that the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi continues to be a Union Territory (UT) under the administrative control of the Lt Governor (LG). Ruling in this regard was given HC bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath. It brings an end to tussle between the cabinet form of governance in Delhi and the Lieutenant Governor.
