  1. 08 Persons, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W had different no. of books. The no. of books were 2, 4, 5, 6 , 8 , 9 , 13, 16.
  2. Linear Arrangement – 2 sets  asked:
    Set 1 – Normal – 7 People (J, K, L , M, N, O and P) owned different cars – TATA, Toyota, Hyundai, Audi, Suzuki, BMWand Tesla.
    Set 2 – No. of people were not specified.
  3. Order & Ranking – 6 friends that have different no. of books.
  4. Alphabetical order – word was INVESTOR – Question was, “How many groups of letters in the word are in the alphabetical order”.
  5. Similarly, in another qs, the word was ‘NORMAL’, the Qs was, “Replace 1st alphabet with 6th, 2nd with 5th, 3rd with 4th. How many alphabets are there (according to the alphabetical order) between the 4th and 5th letters of the new word that is formed”.
  6. 05 Qs on Data Sufficiency – Coding Decoding, Blood relations, Directions and Distances, Scheduling & Ordering and Ranking.

Q1. 2 sets of Reading Comprehension (which did not include question based on vocabulary) and the topics of RCs were -

  • RC 1 - 8 Qs. - Driver less Cars, their Pros & Cons, no fact-based questions,
  • RC 2- 7 Qs. Passage was based on Bitcoin-Cryptocurrency.

Q2. Phrase Replacement - Grammar based, asked for multiple options.

Q3. Parajumble - 5 Qs- Only 1st sentence was given.

Q4. Fill in the Blanks – One blank with multiple words that could fit the blank – options were ‘a only’, ‘both a and b’, etc.
  • Words given against the blank were – (A) Comforts, (B) Merits, (C) Profit, (D) Advantages . However, options were like ‘only (A)’, ‘(A) and (B)’, ‘(B) and (C)’, ‘Only (C)’, ‘None Fits’ or ‘All Fit’.
Q5. Error Spotting – 02 Error Spotting
  1. Future of offline or physical shopping. This was actually a vocab-based error spotting but asked as Cloze Test.
  2. This means, 4 words in each sentence of the passage were printed in bold and one of the words out of the 4 was not grammatically and contextually correct.
  3. Grammar based Error Spotting. You had to find the erroneous pair in the sentence. The error was in 2 parts and you had to find the combination of the erroneous parts! Options were given like: ‘AC’,  ‘BD’, ‘AD’, ‘BC’ and ‘No Error’

  1. Three Data Interpretation Questions were asked.
  2. One Line graph, one Pie chat and one Table DI was asked. Out of this Line Graph was easier and the others were calculative.
  3. Missing Number series questions were also asked like that of the previous slot.
  4. One set of quadratic equation was also asked.
  5. Approximation questions and Miscellaneous questions were asked and they constituted for maximum number of questions in quantitative section.
  6. Probability, Percentages, Averages , Time and Work , Trains, Compound Interest and Simple Interest, Allegations and Mixtures were asked in the Miscellaneous section.
  7. No new pattern questions were asked in the quantitative aptitude section.

Reasoning Questions Asked in IBPS SO Pre Exam 30 Dec 2017

  1. One Square seating arrangement was asked in which every participant faces inside.
  2. One Linear Arrangement  was asked with conditions pertaining to members facing north.
  3. One Puzzle was asked which was way less when compared to the previous batches.
  4. Syllogism , Inequalities and Coding and Decoding questions were asked which constituted for 5 questions each.
  5. There were also questions on Course of action , statement and arguments , statements and assumptions.
  6. Even in this batch too Data Sufficiency Questions were asked accounting for 5 questions in total.
  7. Less Number of Seating based questions were asked which was in the easier level.

English Questions Asked in IBPS SO Pre Exam 30 Dec 2017

  1. One set of Reading Comprehension was asked – One Synonym and One Antonym was asked in that set.
  2. 1 set of Single Fillers were asked and also 1 set of Double Fillers were asked.
  3. One set of Phrasal Replacement questions contributed to 5 questions were asked.
  4. Cloze test questions consisting of 10 questions were asked in total.
  5. This slot has got Sentence Rearrangement questions which was in the old pattern.
  6. Only Single and Double Fillers questions were in the New pattern and also error spotting were in the new pattern.
