Dear Readers, after a long wait of almost a year, the dates of the examination for various posts in Delhi Development Authority (DDA) are finally out. You all must be bouncing off the walls as the examinations are scheduled to be held in the third week of September. The first step in one's strategy to crack a particular examination is always an adequate knowledge of the syllabus of the concerned examination as well as the pattern of the question paper. So, here is the DDA Syllabus being provided to get you acquainted with the latest pattern of examination.

DDA Exam Pattern 2017
Exam Pattern for Assistant Section Officer (ASO)
The DDA every year is conducted in four tiers for various posts. The four tiers are indicated below:

Before beginning the DDA preparation, it is important to make note of exam pattern and syllabus. DDA Exam Pattern 2017 for Tier 1 & 2 are given below:
- DDA ASO 2017 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam will be conducted in online mode.
- No Interviews: Interview component has been dispensed with. There will, therefore, be no interview.
- There will be no sectional cut-off.
- Skill Test: The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature.
- The final merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately.
DDA Tier 1
This is CBE (computer based examination). There are 4 sections in the Tier 1 exam of DDA ASO 2017, with 100 questions which account for a total of 200 marks. The subject-wise details are given below:

- There is a negative marking of 0.66 marks in all sections.
- The duration of exam is 100 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped and suffering from cerebral palsy.

Note:
- In respect of Tier-II (Paper –II), the negative marking system will remain unchanged i.e. 0.33.
- The exam duration is 2 Hours and 40 Minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped.
DDA Tier 3 Exam
This is a (DES)descriptive exam and is conducted offline. Candidates need to write Essay/Letter/Application/Precis. This is to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The best way to prepare for the same is to read lots of articles from various newspapers. Focus on the Intro. and conclusion of the Essay. Apart from this, you need to be well aware of the pattern of Letter and Application.
Important Points:
- The time duration is 60 minutes and carries 100 marks.
- The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffer from cerebral palsy.
DDA Tier 4 Exam
The Tier 4 of DDA ASO Exam 2017 comprises CPT(Computer Proficiency Test).

Single stage online examination followed by interview of shortlisted candidates.

Stage-II
This test is to check the candidate’s translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
- This will be conventional type. i.e. pen and paper method.
- It consisting of translation and essay.
- Total Marks: 200 Marks
- Duration: 2 Hrs
- The paper will contain two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English.

General Awareness:
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
DDA Admit Card
The facility for downloading the Admission Certificate Status will be live from 31/08/2017 to 14/09/2017 only.
Kindly note that entry in the examination centre will be allowed only on production of E-Admit Card. The E-Admit Card will be sent 03 days before the schedule date of examination at your registered e-mail id and the facility for downloading the same will also be made available at DDA website.
