HPPSC HPAS Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Minimum Educational Qualifications
- A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh is a desirable qualification.

HPAS 2023 Exam Pattern
HPAS 2023 Preliminary Examination
- Only Multiple choice questions (objective type) will be asked.
- The duration of the examination will be 02 hours for each paper.
- Number of papers: 02 papers – General Studies (Paper 1) and Aptitude test (Paper 2)
- The total number of questions will be 200 questions.
- There will be a negative marking in HPAS 2023. For correct answers, +2 marks are awarded.

General Science
- Himachal Pradesh History, geography, Art & culture, political and socio-economic calendar
- GK and current affairs of national & international importance
- Indian History and its origin
- National and International Geography Indian National Movement
- Economic and Social Development and its other co-variants such as sustainable development, social sector growth, social sector initiatives, inclusion, demographics, poverty etc.
- Environmental ecology, Climate change, biodiversity- National and International; and do not demand s subject specialization
- Social, economic and physical geography both of the world and India
- Politics and Governance including the Indian political system, constitution, RTI, Right Issues, Panchayat Raj, and Public Policy etc.

- Comprehension and passage writing
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision making and problem-solving
- General mental ability
