Highest in North India, 2.2% cancer rate in Himachal
- Chief Minister has recently said that that the cancer prevalence rate in Himachal was 2.2 per cent against the national average of 0.6 per cent, which was very worrisome.
- He added that his government would make efforts to provide best cancer treatment facilities as around 8,500 cases were detected in the state every year.
- CM held a meeting with prominent oncologist Dr GK Rath, Prof Emeritus, Department of Radiation and Oncology and Head of the National Cancer Institute, (NCI), AIIMS, New Delhi.

- मुख्यमंत्री ने हाल ही में कहा है कि हिमाचल में कैंसर की व्यापकता दर राष्ट्रीय औसत 0.6 प्रतिशत के मुकाबले 2.2 प्रतिशत है, जो बहुत ही चिंताजनक है।
- उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी सरकार बेहतरीन कैंसर उपचार सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने का प्रयास करेगी क्योंकि राज्य में हर साल करीब 8,500 मामले सामने आते हैं।
- सीएम ने प्रमुख ऑन्कोलॉजिस्ट डॉ जीके रथ, प्रो एमेरिटस, रेडिएशन और ऑन्कोलॉजी विभाग और राष्ट्रीय कैंसर संस्थान, (एनसीआई), एम्स, नई दिल्ली के प्रमुख के साथ बैठक की।
