Kuldeep Singh Pathania, a fifth-time MLA from Bhatiyat, has been elected as the 16th Speaker of the 14th Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Kuldeep Singh Pathania won his first election in the year 1985, second in 1993, third in 2003, and fourth election in 2007. Sh. Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who does not have a distant relationship with a political background, started his political journey in the year 1985, leaving the law. He contested the first election from Bhatiyat on a Congress ticket and won. In 1993 and 2003, Pathania contested and won the assembly elections as an independent candidate.
Pathania was re-elected in 2007 on a Congress ticket. The election of the year 2022 was also won on a Congress ticket and reached the assembly for the fifth time. Leaders of both parties unanimously nominated the clean image and seasoned player of politics for the post of Speaker in the 14th Legislative Assembly.
