कोसोवो: वोजोसा उस्मानी को राष्ट्रपति के रूप में चुना गया

• कोसोवो की संसद ने वोजोसा उस्मानी को देश का नया राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित किया है। उस्मानी को कोसोवो की विधानसभा में तीसरे दौर के मतदान में सांसदों से 71 वोट मिले।
• जबकि 120 सदस्यीय संसद में 82 प्रतिनिधियों ने वोट में भाग लिया, 11 वोट अवैध घोषित किए गए। 38 वर्षीय राजनीतिज्ञ ने कोसोवो के प्रिस्टिना विश्वविद्यालय में कानून का अध्ययन किया और अमेरिका में पिट्सबर्ग विश्वविद्यालय से डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि हासिल की है।

 वियतनाम : प्रधानमंत्री और राष्ट्रपति का चयन किया

• वियतनाम की विधायिका ने देश के अगले प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में, पूर्व सुरक्षा अधिकारी और कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के सदस्य फाम मिन्ह चीन्ह को वोट दिया। निवर्तमान प्रधानमंत्री गुयेन जुआन फुक को नया राष्ट्रपति नियुक्त किया गया है।
• नेशनल असेंबली के लगभग 500 सदस्यों के मतों पर मुहर लगने के बाद जनवरी में राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के दौरान बनी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी को चुन लिया गया।

केंद्रीय कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री ने, मधुक्रांति पोर्टल का शुभारंभ किया

• केंद्रीय कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री, नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने 07 अप्रैल, 2021 को एक पोर्टल 'मधुक्रांति' और हनी कॉर्नर लॉन्च किया, जिसका उद्देश्य किसानों की आय में वृद्धि, रोजगार सृजन और निर्यात में वृद्धि करना है। मधुक्रांति पोर्टल राष्ट्रीय मधुमक्खी बोर्ड की एक पहल है। डिजिटल प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर हनी और अन्य मधुमक्खी उत्पादों के ट्रैसेबिलिटी स्रोत को प्राप्त करने के लिए ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण के लिए पोर्टल विकसित किया जा रहा है।
• यह पोर्टल शहद में मिलावट और संदूषण के स्रोत की भी जांच करेगा। शहद के स्रोत को ट्रैक करने के लिए इसका एंड-टू-एंड रिकॉर्ड होगा। हनी कॉर्नर शहद की बिक्री के लिए समर्पित भारतीय राष्ट्रिय कृषि सहकारी विपणन संघ मर्यादित (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd- NAFED) के स्टोरों में विशेष रूप से डिज़ाइन किया गया स्थान है।

 CJI ने लॉन्च किया शीर्ष अदालत का AI- संचालित शोध पोर्टल 'SUPACE'

• भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने अपना आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस पोर्टल "SUPACE" (सुप्रीम कोर्ट पोर्टल फॉर असिस्टेंस इन कोर्ट्स एफिशिएंसी) लॉन्च किया है। इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से, एससी का मामलों की फाइलिंग के समय प्राप्त आंकड़ों की विशाल मात्रा से निपटने के लिए मशीन लर्निंग का लाभ उठाने का विचार है।

SC की आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस समिति:

• जस्टिस एल नागेश्वर राव, जो SC की आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस समिति के अध्यक्ष भी हैं, ने SUPACE के वर्चुअल लॉन्च के दौरान उद्घाटन भाषण दिया।
• भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJI) एसए बोबडे आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस समिति के पहले अध्यक्ष थे।
• CJI बोबडे ने 2019 में मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में शपथ लेने के तुरंत बाद सुप्रीम कोर्ट की सहायता के लिए AI के उपयोग की बात की।

WWE हॉल ऑफ फ़ेम 2021 में शामिल हुए द ग्रेट खली

• द ग्रेट खली को 2021 के WWE हॉल ऑफ फ़ेम क्लास में शामिल किया गया है। द ग्रेट खली ने WWE के कई दिग्गज सुपरस्टार्स को टक्कर दी, जिनमें जॉन सीना, बटिस्टा, शॉन माइकल्स और 2021 में शामिल साथी केन शामिल थे, जिसे उन्होंने द ग्रैंडस्ट स्टेज ऑफ़ देम ऑल, रैसलमेनिया में अपनी पहली जीत हासिल करने के लिए हराया।
• सात फुट एक इंच लंबे और 347 पोंड वजहनी द ग्रेट खली 2006 में WWE में प्रसिद्ध द डेडमैन, अंडरटेकर को हराकर एकाएक चर्चा में आ गए थे। द ग्रेट खली का आधिकारिक नाम दलीप सिंह राणा है।

 पाकिस्तान और चाड फुटबॉल महासंघ, फीफा द्वारा निलंबित

• बाहरी हस्तक्षेप के दावों के कारण फीफा ने पाकिस्तान फुटबॉल फेडरेशन (PFF) और चाडियन फुटबॉल एसोसिएशन (FTFA) को तत्काल प्रभाव से निलंबित कर दिया है। सरकार के संबंधित फैसले निरस्त होते ही निलंबन हटा लिया जाएगा।
• अशफाक हुसैन के नेतृत्व में फुटबॉल अधिकारियों का एक समूह ने, जिसे सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 2018 में PFF चलाने के लिए चुना था, लेकिन फीफा द्वारा मान्यता नहीं दी गई थी, हाल ही में मुख्यालय पर कब्जा कर लिया और हारुन मलिक की अध्यक्षता वाली फीफा सामान्यीकरण समिति से नियंत्रण हटा लिया। PFF को निलंबित करने के निर्णय को "शत्रुतापूर्ण अधिग्रहण" द्वारा प्रेरित किया गया था, जिसने इसकी विधियों का गंभीर उल्लंघन किया था। फीफा द्वारा 2017 में तीसरे पक्ष के हस्तक्षेप के लिए पाकिस्तान को भी निलंबित कर दिया गया था।
• चाडियन के युवा और खेल मंत्रालय ने 10 मार्च को देश की एफए को भंग करके खेल के संचालन के लिए नए अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति करने और संचार टूटने के बाद निलंबित किया गया। पिछले महीने हस्तक्षेप के कारण देश को अफ्रीकी फुटबॉल परिसंघ द्वारा अफ्रीका कप ऑफ नेशंस से अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया गया था।

भारत की पहली महिला क्रिकेट कमेंटेटर, चंद्र नायडू का निधन

• भारत की पहली महिला क्रिकेट कमेंटेटर चंद्रा नायडू का निधन हो गया है। वह देश के पहले टेस्ट कप्तान सीके नायडू की बेटी थीं।
• उन्होंने अपनी पहली कमेन्ट्री राष्ट्रीय चैंपियन बॉम्बे (अब मुंबई) और इंदौर में एमसीसी के बीच 1977 में एक मैच के दौरान की थी। उन्होंने अपने दिवंगत पिता, जो एक प्रतिष्ठित क्रिकेटर थे, पर 'सीके नायडू: ए डॉटर रिमेम्बर्स' नामक पुस्तक भी लिखी थी।

 पद्मश्री से सम्मानित, प्रसिद्ध पत्रकार फातिमा रफ़ीक ज़कारिया का निधन

• पद्मश्री से सम्मानित, प्रसिद्ध पत्रकार, शिक्षाविद और मौलाना आज़ाद एजुकेशनल ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष और खैरूल इस्लाम ट्रस्ट मुंबई की अध्यक्ष फातिमा रफ़ीक ज़कारिया का निधन हो गया। उन्हें 2006 में शिक्षा में उनके काम के लिए पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया था।
• सुश्री ज़कारिया, जिन्होंने शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी, को 1983 में पत्रकारिता के लिए सरोजिनी नायडू एकीकरण पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था।

 नियुक्ति एवं इस्‍तीफे

सरकार ने एस रमण को नियुक्त किया सिडबी का CMD

• सरकार ने एस रमन को भारतीय लघु उद्योग विकास बैंक (SIDBI) के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया है। 1991 बैच के भारतीय लेखा परीक्षा और लेखा सेवा अधिकारी, रमन वर्तमान में भारत की पहली सूचना उपयोगिता नेशनल ई-गवर्नेंस सर्विसेज लिमिटेड के सीईओ हैं।
• यह नियुक्ति पदभार ग्रहण करने की तिथि से तीन वर्ष की अवधि के लिए या अगले आदेशों तक के लिए की गई है। बैंक बोर्ड ब्यूरो, राज्य के स्वामित्व वाले बैंकों और वित्तीय संस्थानों के प्रमुख, ने पद के लिए उनके नाम की सिफारिश की थी।

सीआरपीएफ वीरता दिवस या शौर्य दिवस: 09 अप्रैल

• केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (CRPF) का शौर्य दिवस (Valour Day) पुलिस बल के बहादुर पुरुषों को श्रद्धांजलि के रूप में प्रति वर्ष 9 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता है। 2021 में 56 वाँ सीआरपीएफ शौर्य दिवस मनाया जा रहा है।
• इस दिन 1965 में, CRPF की एक छोटी टुकड़ी ने गुजरात के कच्छ के रण में स्थित सरदार पोस्ट में बड़े पैमाने पर आक्रमणकारी पाकिस्तानी सेना को हराकर इतिहास रचा था। सीआरपीएफ के जवानों ने 34 पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों को मार गिराया और चार को जिंदा पकड़ लिया। इस युद्ध में, सीआरपीएफ ने छह कर्मियों को खो दिया, जिन्होंने शहादत प्राप्त की थी।

पीएम मोदी ने जारी किया ‘ओडिशा इतिहस’ का हिंदी संस्करण

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 9 अप्रैल को अंबेडकर इंटरनेशनल सेंटर में उत्कल केशरी हरेकृष्ण महताब द्वारा लिखित पुस्तक 'ओडिशा इतिहस' के हिंदी अनुवाद का विमोचन करेंगे।
• हिंदी संस्करण के विमोचन का आयोजन हरेकृष्णा महताब फाउंडेशन द्वारा किया गया है।

भारती एयरटेल ने रिलायंस जियो के साथ एक समझौता किया

• भारती एयरटेल ने मुकेश अंबानी के स्वामित्व वाली फर्म को अपने तीन सर्कल में 800 मेगाहर्ट्ज स्पेक्ट्रम में से कुछ के लिए 'राइट टू यूज' हस्तांतरित करने के लिए रिलायंस जियो इन्फोकॉम के साथ एक समझौता किया है। इस समझौते के बाद, भारती एयरटेल को प्रस्तावित हस्तांतरण के लिए रिलायंस जियो से 1,037.6 करोड़ रुपये का विचार प्राप्त होगा। इसके अलावा, रिलायंस जियो स्पेक्ट्रम से संबंधित 459 करोड़ रुपये की भविष्य की देनदारियों को स्वीकार करेगा।
• वैधानिक अनुमोदन के अधीन समझौते के अनुसार, रिलायंस जियो स्पेक्ट्रम ट्रेडिंग के माध्यम से आंध्र प्रदेश (3.75 मेगाहर्ट्ज), दिल्ली (1.25 मेगाहर्ट्ज) और मुंबई (2.50 मेगाहर्ट्ज) में 800 मेगाहर्ट्ज बैंड में स्पेक्ट्रम के अधिकार का उपयोग करेगा।

Kosovo: Vjosa Osmani elected as a president

• Kosovo’s parliament elected Vjosa Osmani as the country’s new president. Osmani received 71 votes from the lawmakers at the third round of voting in the Assembly of Kosovo.
• While 82 deputies participated in the vote in the 120-member parliament, 11 votes were declared invalid. The 38-year-old politician studied law at the University of Pristina in Kosovo and earned a doctorate from Pittsburgh University in the US.

 Vietnam National Assembly select Prime Minister  & President

• Vietnam’s legislature voted to make Pham Minh Chinh, a member of the Communist party with a history as a security official, the country’s next Prime Minister. Outgoing Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was appointed the new President.
• The votes of the nearly 500 members of the National Assembly rubber-stamped the leadership picks the Communist party made during its national congress in January.

Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare launched the Madhukranti portal

• The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar launched a portal ‘Madhukranti’ and Honey Corners on April 07, 2021, with the aim to bring an increase in income of farmers, employment generation and increase in exports. Madhukranti portal is an initiative of the National Bee Board (NBB). The portal is being developed for online registration to achieve traceability source of Honey and other beehive products on a digital platform.
• The portal will also check the source of adulteration and contamination in honey. It will have an end-to-end record to track the source of honey. Honey Corner is a specially designed space in National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) stores dedicated to the sale of honey.

 CJI launched top court's AI-driven research portal 'SUPACE'

• The Supreme Court of India has launched it's Artificial Intelligence portal "SUPACE" (Supreme Court Portal for Assistance in Courts Efficiency). Through this portal, the SC intends to leverage machine learning to deal with the vast amounts of data received at the time of filing of cases.

SC's Artificial Intelligence Committee:

• Justice L Nageshwara Rao, who is also the chairman of the SC's Artificial Intelligence Committee, delivered the opening address during the virtual launch of SUPACE.
• Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde was the first-ever chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Committee.
• CJI Bobde first spoke of the use of AI to assist the Supreme Court soon after he took oath as the Chief Justice in 2019.

The Great Khali inducted in WWE Hall of Fame 2021

• The Great Khali has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021. The Great Khali went on to battle many of WWE’s most legendary Superstars, including John Cena, Batista, Shawn Michaels and fellow 2021 Inductee Kane, whom he defeated to pick up his first win on The Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania.
• Standing 7-foot-1 and tipping the scales at 347 pounds, Khali made his titanic presence felt from the moment he first entered the WWE Universe in 2006, standing toe-to-toe with the legendary Undertaker and bulldozing over The Deadman, a rare sight between the ropes. The official name of “The Great Khali” is Dalip Singh Rana.

 Pakistan and Chad football federations suspended by FIFA

• FIFA has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and Chadian Football Association (FTFA) with immediate effect due to claims of outside interference. The suspension will be lifted once the relevant government decisions have been repealed.
• A group of football officials led by Ashfaq Hussain, which was elected by the Supreme Court in 2018 to run the PFF but was not recognised by FIFA, took over the headquarters recently and seized control from the FIFA Normalisation Committee headed by Haroon Malik. The decision to suspend the PFF was prompted by the "hostile takeover" which constituted a serious violation of its statutes. Pakistan was also suspended by FIFA for third-party interference in 2017.
• The Chadian Ministry of Youth and Sports had stripped the country's FA of its powers on March 10 following concerns over the way it was being run and a breakdown in communication. Last month the country was disqualified from the Africa Cup of Nations by the Confederation of African Football due to interference.

 OBITUARY

First female cricket commentator of India, Chandra Naidu passed away

• India's first female cricket commentator Chandra Naidu passed away. She was the daughter of the country’s first Test captain CK Naidu.
• She had done her first commentary during a match between national champions Bombay (now Mumbai) and MCC in Indore in 1977. She had also penned a book titled 'CK Nayudu: A Daughter Remembers' on her late father, who was a distinguished cricketer.

 Padma Shri awardee Fatima Rafiq Zakaria passed away

• Fatima Rafiq Zakaria, a Padma Shri awardee, renowned journalist, academician and chairman of Maulana Azad Educational Trust and Khairul Islam Trust Mumbai, passed away. She was awarded the Padma Shri in recognition of her work in education in 2006.
• Ms Zakaria, who had played an eminent role in the field of education, was also honoured with the Sarojini Naidu Integration Award for Journalism in 1983.

 APPOINTMENTS AND RESIGNATIONS

Government appoint S. Ramann as SIDBI CMD

• The government has appointed S Ramann as Chairman and Managing Director of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). Ramann, a 1991-batch Indian Audit & Accounts Service officer, is currently the CEO of National E-Governance Services Ltd, India’s first Information Utility.
• The appointment is for a period of three years from the date of his assuming the charge or until further orders. Banks Board Bureau, the headhunter for state-owned banks and financial institutions, had recommended his name for the post.

 IMPORTANT DAYS

CRPF Valour Day or Shaurya Diwas: 09 April

• Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Valour Day (Shaurya Diwas) is observed on 9 April every year, as a tribute to the brave men of the Force. 2021 marks the 56th CRPF Valour Day.
• It was on this day in 1965, a small contingent of CRPF created history by defeating an invading Pakistani army, several time larger, at the Sardar Post located in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The CRPF men eliminated 34 Pakistani soldiers and captured four alive. In the conflict, CRPF lost six personnel who had attained martyrdom.

PM Modi to released Hindi version of ‘Odisha Itihaas’

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the Hindi translation of the book ‘Odisha Itihaas’, written by Utkal Keshari Harekrushna Mahtab, on 9th April at the Ambedkar International Center.
• The event marking the release of the Hindi version has been organised by the Harekrushna Mahtab Foundation.

 BANKING AND ECONOMY

Bharti Airtel has entered into an agreement with Reliance Jio

• Bharti Airtel has entered into an agreement with Reliance Jio Infocomm to transfer ‘Right to Use’ for some of its 800 MHz spectrum in three circles to the Mukesh Ambani-led firm. Following this agreement, Bharti Airtel will receive a consideration of ₹1,037.6 crores from Reliance Jio for the proposed transfer. In addition, Reliance Jio will assume future liabilities of ₹459 crores relating to the spectrum.
• As per the agreement, which is subject to statutory approvals, Reliance Jio will acquire the right to use spectrum in the 800MHz band in Andhra Pradesh (3.75 MHz), Delhi (1.25 MHz) and Mumbai (2.50 MHz) circles through spectrum trading.
