1. 5th Science Film festival starts in Goa
- The 5th edition of Science Film Festival of India has been started in Panaji, Goa.
- The objective of the festival is instilling the knowledge of science among the youth with the help of exhibitions, masterclasses, workshops, and other activities.
- A special workshop ‘Million SoUL’ will also be conducted by IIT Bombay on training about making solar lamps.

2. The US signs the first phase of the trade deal with China
- The US has signed the first phase of a trade deal with China.
- It includes Intellectual Property (IP) Protection and Enforcement, re balancing the US-China trade relationship and effective dispute resolution.
- The deal was signed by President Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He at the White House in Washington.
- However, President Trump has refused to roll back the massive tariff imposed on the import of Chinese goods

3. Mega campaign on fuel conservation 'Saksham' inaugurated
- Petroleum Secretary Mr MM Kutty inaugurated fuel conservation mega campaign 'Saksham' of Petroleum Conservation Research Association in New Delhi.
- India's share of primary energy demand is set to double to 11% by 2040.
- It will help in the progressive reduction of carbon footprint and lead to fulfilling government's commitment to a greener environment.

4. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev submits resignation
- Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev submitted his resignation to President Vladimir Putin.
- According to the Tass news agency, Mr Putin will name Mr. Medvedev as deputy of the presidential Security Council.
- Russian President asked Medvedev's Cabinet to keep working until the new Cabinet is formed.
