Minimum Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 2018
Below I’m sharing with you minimum eligibility requirements for Flying, Ground Duty Non-Technical and Technical branches for AFCAT 1 2018.
Flying Branch
- Educational Qualification: 60% marks in Graduation with any discipline along with Phy & Math at class 10+2 OrE/B.Tech or 60% marks in section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
- Age Criteria: In between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 1999 (Both Dates inclusive). Upper age limit will be relaxed up to 26 years if you have valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India).
Ground Duty Technical
- Educational Qualification: Obtained 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline along with Phy & Math at class 10+2 Or complete 4 years graduation or integration post graduation in Engineering or Technology or 60% marks in section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
- Age Criteria: In between 02 January 1993 to 01 January 1999 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty Non-Technical
- Educational Qualification: Secured 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline and 60% marks in section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India). - Age Criteria: In between 02 January 1993 to 01 January 1999 (both dates inclusive).
AFCAT Exam Application Form 2018
It will be possible to access the AFCAT application form in online mode from its official website i.e. http://www.careerairforce.nic.in/. You can access the form from 16th December 2017. Once the form will live at its official website, we’ll provide you the direct link to the same. The application form needs to be filled in two parts. Please have a look how can you proceed to apply online for AFCAT 2018.
Part 1
- Access the official website and click the relevant link of AFCAT 2018 application form.
- This link will redirect you to the page where you can complete the One Time registration process.
- At the time of applying online, please keep all necessary documents and details with you.
- Please ensure the correctness of details furnished by you in the form. Upon submission of the form, you won’t be allowed to make any sort of changes.
- Soon after clicking the submit button a registration number will be generated which will be required at the time of filling second part of the application. Please make a note of your registration number.
Part 2
- Upon completion of first part of the application form, candidates may proceed to apply for the second part.
- In the second part of the application, candidates would be asked to choose the exam centre, pay the application fee and upload necessary documents.
- Candidates are required to upload a recently taken passport size photograph of size in between 10 KB to 50 KB.
- Download a copy of your filled application form and keep it preserved for future reference.
- If the details provided by you in the form are found incorrect at any stage of selection, your candidature would be cancelled at the same time.
Examination Fee for AFCAT 2018
Candidates will be required to pay Rs.250/- as application fee. Candidates, who are registering for Meteorology entry and NCC Special entry, are exempted from paying the examination fee.
Selection Procedure AFCAT 2018
Here are the important information associated with AFCAT selection procedure, please go through the same:
- There are various stages of the selection procedure.
- Stage 1 will be an intelligence test. It is a kind of screening test after clearing which candidates will be able to go for further stages.
- The second stage will include Psychological, Group Tests and Interview which will be organized over five subsequent days.
- For Flying Branch: Candidates will have to undergone through a test conducted by Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS). It will be conducted once in a lifetime.
AFCAT 2018 Exam Pattern & Syllabus
We have shared here all possible information regarding AFCAT 2018 exam pattern. Please go through the details furnished below and make sure it is correct:- If you have applied for flying branch and ground duty then you will have to appear for AFCAT only, whereas, candidates, those are applying for ground duty technical, they need to appear for both AFCAT as well as EKT.
- The exam will be conducted over a period of 2 hours.
- Questions are to be asked from Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Aptitude Test.
- All the questions will be multiple choice questions in AFCAT.
- The exam duration for the EKT will be 45 minutes.

- Reasoning and military aptitude: Verbal skills and spatial ability.
- Verbal ability in English: Error detection, Comprehension, vocabulary testing, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion.
- Numerical ability: Decimal fraction, ratio, average, simplification, profit and loss, simple interest.
- General awareness: Art, Culture, geography, environment, history, current affairs, politics, basic science, civics.
