SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Analysis: 7th February 2017 (Shift 2)


SSC CHSL is one of the most awaited examinations of all times. This examination is held on an annual basis to filter eligible candidates for posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Data Entry Operator (DEO). The examination of SSC CHSL Tier I started from 7th January 2017 was conducted in various centres across the country.

  1. 7th January 2017 to 9th January 2017 (in two slots)
  2. 10th January 2017 to 8th February 2017 (in three slots)

  • Number/Alphabet Series: 10 Qs – Easy, (Simple and easy patterns to recognize)
  • Analogy: 2 Qs – Easy
  • Paper folding:  1 Qs – Easily solved. Required spatial acuity
  • Miscellaneous: 5-7 Qs – Easy to Moderate
  • Classification: 1-2 Qs – Easy
  • Matrix: 1 Q – simple and direct.
  • Blood Relations: 2-3 Qs – Easy
  • Verbal Reasoning: (Statements/Conclusions/Assumptions/Cause & Effect):0-1Qs -Moderate
  • Pattern Based Picture Diagram – 1-2 Q – Moderate
  • Logical Reasoning – 3 Qs – Though not direct, they remained simple to solve
  • Direction & Distance – 3 Q – Easy

General Awareness Analysis SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam

Nearly all the subtopics of the section were asked, with a few topics gaining an upper hand over other subtopics. The level remained easy for majority but also leaned towards easy for one who was considerably prepared.

Safe Attempts : 18-20 / out of 25 Questions

  • DI – 3 Qs – Easy. but Time intensive.
  • Coordinate Geometry – 2Qs – Easy to Moderate
  • Geometry – 2Qs – Moderate
  • Algebra -1-2 Qs- Moderate. - Moderate with a focus on calculation.
  • Trigonometry – 1-2 Qs – Basic trigonometric facts and identities were sufficient. Remained simple to solve.
  • Mensuration – 2 Qs – Easy. Formula Based.
  • Profit & Loss – 1-2 Qs – Moderate.
  • Averages & Percentages – 2-3 Qs – Easy. Straightforward.
