The Preliminary phase of IBPS Clerk VI concluded recently. Many of you had been pouring in requests regarding the exam pattern and syllabus for the Mains Phase, so today we are going to share this information with you. The exam is scheduled for 31st December 2016 and 1st January 2017.
Pattern of the Exam
IBPS has allotted time frame for individual sections from this year onwards, which is along the same lines as that of SBI. We are now going to provide you details of the expected syllabus based on previous year’s IBPS Clerk Mains as well as this year’s SBI Clerk Mains Exam.

- Puzzles (High level with at least 2 parameters, especially floor based puzzles)
- Seating Arrangement (Both Circular and Linear, in combination with other parameters)

A big chunk of questions were asked from Miscellaneous questions in this year’s SBI Clerk Mains as well as last year’s IBPS Clerk Mains. So, have a thorough practice of these topics in order to score well.
Data Sufficiency (Try to go through the pattern of these questions asked in IBPS PO Mains Exam this year as well i.e. computation of quantities in both statements and then establishing the relationship between the two)
General Awareness
- Questions will be asked mainly from the Current Affairs & Banking Awareness topics (For instance, you may come across questions related to demonetisation)
- This section may also include questions on Books & authors, Currencies, Important Places, Awards, Headquarters, Prime Ministers Schemes, Important Days etc.
- It would be advisable to go through the GK updates of at least last 2 - 3 months.
- Do not forget to prepare for static GK part as well, especially the countries, their capitals and currencies (Try to focus especially on the countries that have been in news lately, for instance, the countries visited by our Prime Minister or President or with whom any major MoU has been signed).

- Unlike Preliminary phase, this exam is not merely Qualifying. The marks of this exam will be included in the final result. So make sure you make as many attempts as possible.
