Candidates shall be selected through a selection process consisting of the online test followed by Group Discussion or/and Personal Interview. Admission procedure to the One-year full-time postgraduate diploma course in Banking and Finance from Manipal University and NITTE University will be conducted at Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd, Bangalore (MaGE) and Nitte Education International Pvt Ltd. (NEIPL) Mangalore comes with the assurance of a full-fledged Banking career with Canara Bank on successful completion of the course.


The aggregate marks of qualified candidates in the Objective, will be arranged in descending order in each category and the candidates in the order of merit, subject to 4 times the number of vacancies declared for each category, will be called for Interview and/ or Group Discussion as decided by the Bank. The qualifying marks in Interview and/or Group Discussion will be as decided by the Bank.

The post which will be available in this recruitment project is of Probationary Officers.

Q. When will the exam be conducted?

Canara Bank's recruitment of Probationary Officers will be conducted on 4th March 2018 (tentative).

Q. How many vacancies are there?

The number of vacancies is 450 for Canara Bank's Probationary Officers post.

Q. The exam will be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?

Common Written Exam for Canara Bank's Probationary Officers will be conducted online.

Q. Will there be an interview after the written examination?

Yes, there will be interview for the recruitment process of Probationary Officers. The successful candidates in the On-line test would be called for a Personal Interview and/or Group Discussion round.
The final merit list for selection will be based on your performance in the Online Test and Interview and/or Group Discussion.

Q. What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?

Minimum 20 years - Maximum 30 years.

Q. What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

Qualification (As on 01.01.2018) –Degree (Graduation) with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification as such recognized by Central Government.

Q. What is the Application Fee?

Application Fees/ Intimation Charges shall be as follows –
- Rs. 118/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
- Rs. 708 /- for all others.

Q. When will the registration start?

Registration will start from 09.01.2018 to 31.01.2018.

Q. Is the exam Bilingual?

The tests, except the Test of English Language in Mains exam all others will be available bilingually, i.e. in both English and Hindi.

Q. What is the cut-off for being recruited?

There is no fixed cut-off. It depends on the performance of the candidates. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each section of Online Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process.

Q. Is there a criterion for negative marking?

There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.
