IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Analysis 9th December 2017 (2nd Slot)

The exam is taking place in 04 Shifts i.e 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, 11:30 - 12:30, 2:00 - 3:00 PM and 4:30 - 5:30 PM. The first slot of IBPS Clerk exam is over now. Lets have a look on the detailed review given below.

Exam Pattern of IBPS Clerk 2017 Prelims Exam: 

  • The Prelims Examination will consist of three sections namely 
    • Quantitative Aptitude - 35 Marks
    • Reasoning Ability - 30 Marks
    • English Language - 35 Marks
  • The Question paper is of 100 Marks and time allotted for the exam is 01 hour. 
  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks is applied on each wrong answer.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Overall  Exam Analysis 

All the three sections remained unchanged as previous shifts. English Section was equally difficult and challenging as observed in the IBPS Clerk Pre Examination on 2nd and 3rd of December.

The Level of this Shift’s Examination was Moderate.

The preliminary exam for IBPS Clerk was conducted online and had 100 questions for 60 minutes. Candidates have to manage those 60 minutes themselves while dealing with three sections- Reasoning Ability (35 Ques), Numerical Ability (35 Ques), and English Language (30 Ques).

English Language Analysis

The level of English Language was Moderate-Difficult. 
  • The Reading Comprehension was an Economy based one involving North Korea and the techniques they use to keep the economy stabilized.
  • There were no questions related to the vocabulary with Reading Comprehension. 
  • There were new pattern questions on idiom and phrases where one had to choose an idiom/phrase the was similar to the word given in bold. 
  • There were questions of double fillers.
  • In sentence rearrangement, parts of a sentence were to be rearranged to make a meaningful sentence.

Numerical Ability Analysis

The level of Numerical Ability section was Easy-Moderate. 
The number of questions from arithmetic (word problems) was significantly high as 12 out of 35 questions were from the arithmetic portion There was only 1 set of DI was Tabular (Month-based)
