UP Police SI Eligibility Criteria 2017 – Age Limit, Education & Physical Standards

U.P. Police has already released the notification for the post of Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector with a total of 3307 vacancies for different posts. Today, we are sharing the U.P. Police Sub-Inspector (S.I.) Eligibility Criteria in detail - age limit, qualification, physical standards & percentage required for U.P. Police S.I. 2017 exam. The U.P. Police S.I. 2017 Exam will be conducted in three phases that are written, Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

The eligibility for U.P. Police S.I. 2017 exam is the most important thing. As the eligibility helps you to determine whether the person who wishes to appear for the exam is eligible or not. The candidate must meet the requirements that the U.P. Police S.I. eligibility criteria demands. A Candidate who fails to meet, the candidate would be rejected.

U.P. Police SI Eligibility Criteria 2017

Age Limit Criteria
The Minimum age of the candidate applying for the post of UP Police SI should not be less than 21 years and the Maximum age of the candidate should not be more than 28 years as on 1st July 2016.
This means that the candidate who wish to appear for the U.P. Police S.I. exam should not be born before 1st July 1988 and not later than 2nd July 1993.

Candidates can also seek for the upper age relaxation subject to the following:

Educational Qualification
Different level of educational qualification is required for the distinctive posts mentioned under the recruitment of U.P. Police S.I. The mandatory and minimum qualification required for the different posts under U.P. Police S.I. exams are stated below:

Sub-Inspector, Platoon Commander and PAC Posts: -
As per the norms established by Government by India, a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university recognized by the Government of India is mandatory for the post.

Fireman Posts: -
As per the norms established by Government by India, a Bachelor’s degree in science stream with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university approved by the Government of India is required.

The candidates are required to complete the minimum physical measurements that have been prescribed by the examination board.

Note:
  • Female candidates should have a minimum weight of 40 kg.
  • 5 cm of chest expansion is essential for male candidates.
  • U.P. Police S.I. Nationality 2016
  • To Complete the nationality for the upcoming U.P. Police S.I. 2017 Exam, a candidate must be either:
  • A citizen of India, or  
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2) and (3) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
