Responsibility Details
Speech Typing It is the most common job profile of a stenographer. A stenographer is attached to a senior officer and any speech provided by the officer has to be noted down by the stenographer. In this way the stenographer plays an important role in making life of an officer easy. The content of speech differs from one department to another thus it provides a good platform for learning and gaining knowledge in myriad fields.  
Briefings of Press Conferences Stenographers are required to attend the press conferences with the minister or a senior officer so that he/she can easily note down the speech in the event and aid the government make press release regarding the same. In this way there are high chances of getting exposure to experts and eminent professionals of various fields.
Assisting the Minister or Officer A stenographer attached to a particular officer or a minister needs to assist the minister in case of preparing a speech because most of the time, stenographers generally know the subject topics more than anybody because of continuous approach towards the proceedings. This helps in adding to the knowledge base of a stenographer and the horizons of thinking develop.
