The 89th Academy Awards, commonly known as Oscars were presented on 26th February 2017 at the  Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Today we are sharing with you all brief overview and the list of winners of these awards this year.  Hope it helps you in your preparation of upcoming bank exams.

These awards are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to honor the excellence in cinematic achievements of 2016 in 24 different categories. This ceremony was hosted by Comedian, Jimmy Kimmel.

The Academy Awards were presented for the first time on May 16, 1929 at a private function at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Los Angeles, California. The Oldest Entertainment Award ceremony, The Academy Awards was first broadcasted on radio in 1930 and was first presented on television in 1953.
