Railway RRB NTPC Stage 2 Preparation Strategy

Railway recruitment Board has conducted the Stage 1 exam of RRB NTPC for the recruitment of various officer and clerk/Goods guards/ Station masters/TT  in the Railway department. 

The first stage RRB NTPC Exam has been conducted in the month of March to May, the result of same has been declared by the respective Regional board. Around 50 to 60 lakh students appeared in the first stage exam but only 3 lakhs students clear the first stage. Around 15 times students of vacancy have cleared the first stage. Now to remove the malpractice in the recruitment process RRB has introduced another Stage 2 exam. Now the successful candidates of 1st stage exam will appear in the stage 2 exam.

Important points regarding Stage 2 Exam:

  • This exam will be conducted in the online mode.
  • This exam consists of 120 questions of 1 marks each
  • You have 90 minutes to attempt the paper
  • There will be a negative marking of .333 marks
  • RRB Stage 2 exam is going to be held in the month of January and February
  • Stage 2 exam consists of three section i.e. Quantitative aptitude, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness


Now the successful candidates of RRB NTPC 1st stage exam are looking for the preparation strategy and pattern for the RRB NTPC  Stage 2 exam. As there is lot of competition in the current time and everyone has a wish to grab a government job, so dear students start your preparation with full energy.  To add feather in the cap of our students  we are providing the preparation strategy. 

Some important points of preparation strategy:

  1. If we see the pattern of Stage 1 exam than it is obvious that GS will play a major role in the Stage 2 exam.
  2. Around 60% questions will be from General Intelligence & Reasoning and quantitative aptitude and 40% questions will be from GS portion.
  3. This ratio of questions is not fixed and can be vary.
  4. As GS is going to play the major role in stage 2 exam so prepare this portion assiduously.
  5. Mostly questions in GS portion are asked from the Science portion(Chemistry,Biology, Physics) so don’t left any stone unturned.
  6. Polity, History and Geography are considered as the base of GS , so you must have tight grip over this portion
  7.  As most of you are preparing for other competitive exam such as SSC CGL and Banking Sector exam so you don’t have any need to      worry about the quantitative and reasoning section.
  8. If you are not preparing any competitive exam and this is your first exam, still don’t take any tension about quantitative section as the level of questions must be similar to stage 1 exam or little bit higher.
  9. In reasoning section you must prepare the sitting arrangement puzzle as they are time consuming, so practice these questions.
  10. As we have around 3 to 4 questions of current in every competitive exam, so prepare current section also.
  11. Generally questions from last sixth months are asked in the competitive exam, so prepare this section also. For this we will provide you the monthly digest of every month.
  12. From today prepare the short notes of important points and news from the newspaper which will surely help you in the exam.
  13. As competition is not related to your own preparation but it depends on the preparation of other students so dear students don’t leave any stone unturned and gives your 100% to every portion.
  14. Analyse the previous paper of various exam conducted by railway and find the pattern and type of questions which generally asked
  15. In current time speed with accuracy is necessary to crack any competitive exam so improve your speed.
  16. For the improvement of speed you must solve the practice set in same time frame of as of main exam.
  17. Solve the practice set in 80 to 85 minutes and analyse the paper jot down the questions in which are making error.
  18. Solve at least two to three papers per week for improving your speed.
