2 Week Strategy for IBPS PO Mains Exam 2016

The result of Preliminary phase of IBPS PO exam 2016 was declared recently. Congratulations to all those who cleared the exam. Our readers, who could not get through this phase of the exam, we would like to say that do not let this failure get down your spirits. Many more challenges await you in the near future, so instead of dwelling on this, prepare for the upcoming exams with more vigour.

The mains phase of the exam is scheduled for 20th November 2016. We have curated a 2 Week Study Plan that we hope would help you enhance your score in the mains exam.

Many of you would be aware with the exam pattern. For those who don’t, here is a brief look at the pattern of the exam –


Now, since limited time is left, it is high time that you make sure all your basics are clear. Try to brush up the basics of the following topics within this week.Since time has already been allotted for each section, you do not need to take care of the fact that you devote proper time to each section. However, you’ll have to make sure that you attempt sufficient questions from each section to clear the Sectional and Overall cutoff.

WEEK - 1

Study Plan for for Quant, Reasoning and English



General Awareness 

To prepare this topic, you can regularly go through the daily updates that are provided on Grade up. We will be releasing the GK Tornado in a day or two. Make sure you go through it thoroughly since we have tried to cover the major happenings of the last 3-4 months which are essential for the mains exam. Besides this, do not forget to cover the Static GK part as well. Under this, try to cover the countries, their capitals and currencies (Try to focus especially on the countries that have been in news lately, for instance, the countries visited by our Prime Minister or President or with whom any major MoU has been signed), Major organisations and their headquarters, Important Days etc.

Computer Knowledge

20 Questions will be asked from this topic and you need to finish this topic within 10 minutes.
Go through the following topics in this section
  • Fundamentals of Computer
  • History of Computer
  • Internet
  • MS Office – Word, Power point, Excel & Access
  • Memory
  • Input Output devices
  • Computer Shortcuts
  • Important Abbreviations

WEEK - 2

Practice mock tests regularly. Try to attempt at-least 2 – 3 mock tests daily. This will help you with following –
  • Provide you with a simulated environment as that of exam.
  • Help you identify your strong and weak areas and this in turn will identify the areas that you should focus on during exam.
Try not to go for any new topic in the last week as this might add to unnecessary confusion. Stick to the topics you have revised thoroughly and practice them regularly. Do analyse the mistakes that you make in the mock tests.
