IBPS PO VI Pre Exam Analysis & Expected Cutoff – 27th October 2016 (Slot- 2)

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducted the preliminary examination for IBPS CWE PO/ MT today. The Written Examination was conducted online, in 4 different slots. This article focuses on IBPS PO Exam Analysis, Prelims Paper Review, Number of Good Attempts and Expected IBPS PO Prelims Cut off for getting shortlisted for the mains examination.


The Preliminary phase of the IBPS PO/MT VI Exam had started from 16th October 2016. The Fourth & the final set of the exam is scheduled today. The Second Slot of the exam was scheduled for 11.30 am – 12.30 pm. We are now going to provide you the analysis of this slot of the exam.

The candidates will have to qualify in all the three sections separately. They will have to secure the sectional and overall cutoff as well to qualify the exam.

1. English Language      Level – Moderate
  • Reading Comprehension – 7 Questions – (Moderate)
  • Cloze Test – 8 Questions (Easy) (Based on Economy)
  • Spotting Error/ Sentence Correction – 10 Questions (Moderate)
  • Para jumbles – 5 Questions (Moderate)
Note:- No Synonym Antonym questions were asked


    2. Quantitative Aptitude       Level –Easy to Moderate

    • Number Series – 5 Questions (Moderate)
    • Approximation/ Simplification – 5 Questions (Easy )
    • Data Interpretation (2 Sets) – 10 Questions (Easy to Moderate) (Line graph and Tabular graph)
    • Quadratic Equation – 5 Questions (Easy)
    • Miscellaneous Questions – 10 Questions (Moderate) Miscellaneous questions include – Age, Probability, Partnership, Profit Loss, Average, Boats & Stream, Compound/Simple Interest, Time & Work, etc.
    3. Reasoning Ability
          Level – Moderate
    • Syllogism – 5 Questions (Easy)
    • Inequality – 5 Questions (Easy)
    • Puzzle and Arrangement – 15 Questions (Moderate) (Floor arrangement, Circular arrangement, Linear arrangement – 8 people in a straight line, facing north and south)
    • Miscellaneous Questions (Blood Relation, Direction based) – 10 Questions (Easy to Moderate)
    • No Coding – Decoding Questions were asked.

    Good Attempts 
    1. English Language – 15 – 18
    2. Reasoning Ability – 20 – 22
    3. Quantitative Aptitude – 20 – 22
    Note: Only recommendation for aspirants who are yet to attempt IBPS PO Pre Exam in the upcoming shifts would be – “AVOID NEGATIVE MARKING”.
