Union Government Approves Third NIMZ of India In Odisha
“The Union Government on 26 May approved establishment of a National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Kalinganagar, Odisha. It will come up on a massive area of 163 square kilometres and on completion will be the third NIMZ of India. For execution NIMZ project, Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has approved fund of Rs. 4241 crore. Of this total amount, estimated Rs. 3816 crore will be invested for the first phase of the project which will be completed by 2020. NIMZ in Kalinganagar will create employment opportunities for around 1.5 lakh people. It will help Odisha grow as a manufacturing hub and also help Paradip port’s growth.”

Arunachal’s Pakke Tiger Reserve Won 2016 India Biodiversity Award
Pakke Tiger Reserve in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh has received the ‘India Biodiversity Award 2016′ for their initiative to save the endangered species of Northeast. The Hornbill Nest Adoption Programme of the Pakke Tiger Reserve was awarded the prize under the category ,’conservation of threatened species.’

Sunil Mittal Receives 2016 Harvard Alumni Award
“Bharti Enterprises founder and Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal was bestowed with 2016 Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award. Sunil Mittal is Indian telecom tycoon, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the founder, chairman and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, which has interests in telecom, financial services, retail and agri business. The Group flagship Bharti Airtel, with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa and has customer base of over 275 million. It is India’s largest telecom company and world’s third largest mobile operator. He is listed as the eight richest person in India by Forbes with a Net worth of 7 billion dollars. In 2007, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian honour.”

Mamata Banerjee Sworn-In As West Bengal CM
Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee was sworn-in as the chief minister of West Bengal for second successive five-year term on 27 May 2016. State Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi administered her oath of office and secrecy along with the 42 ministers of her government. Mamata Banerjee is eighth chief minister of West Bengal and the first CM of the state. The 42-member ministry, of them 18 are new faces, has seven ministers from the minority community. Banerjee is among the four women representatives in the ministry. Earlier on 19 May 2016, her party swept the electoral mandate begging 211 seats of the 294-seat Assembly.
